Why is Max Clifford her PA. She has some burlesque **** she is trying to promote.

I'm not saying it was planned but she is definitely making the most out of it.

An absolute storm in a teacup. The listeners to Brand's radio show would not be in the last bit offended by this.
It's the Daily Wail that propagated this, took it to the middle-aged fuddy duddys in Tunbridge Wells who reacted exactly as planned took this and turned it into a witch hunt.

The BBC really needs to grow a set.

If the Daily Wail wants to go down this route why don't they call on Sachs and Cleese to apologise to all the Spaniards they offended with the Manuel character?

If one was going to go down that route, then why shouldn't Cleese apologise for portraying the British as buffoons? Manuel was a stereotypical character in a show that was situated very much in the realm of surreality.

It's the same argument with The Simpsons when they take the piss out of the Irish or British or South Americans in one off episodes; if asked Groening will say something along the lines of "sure we take the piss out of America regularly".

Why shouldn't she? She's been publically humiliated. She may as well make the most of it. The alternative is trying to lay low and hope it blows over.

The whole thing if ridiculous. It was a stupid thing to do in the first place and it was even dumber for the shows producers to let it run. But I can't imagine anything else coming from this. After their suspensions, Ross and Brand will continue on as if nothing happened. The tabloids will move onto the next story and the grand-daughter will do whatever she does. The only one who really loses out is Sachs, unless he goes and sells his story somewhere, which seems unlikely.

I've seen the British PM is also involved

Did Brand actually hook up with the granddaughter?

Apparently she confessed that she did.

30,000 complaints it seems. At this point, i'm starting to think the complaints are directed at Brand and Ross rather than the act itself.

It is the same crowd who complained about Jerry Springer: The Musical.

BBC bosses are meeting to discuss the future of Jonathan Ross in the wake of the prank call scandal.

Ross has been suspended on full pay as a result of the incident which has also led to the resignation of his fellow Radio 2 presenter Russell Brand.
The pair were widely condemned for pulling the prank on veteran Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.
They left obscene messages on the 78-year-old actor's answerphone suggesting Brand had slept with his granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
The messages were then broadcast and so far more than 25,000 people have complained.
BBC Director-General Mark Thompson will report to the BBC Trust the findings of an internal investigation into how the pre-recorded calls came to be cleared for broadcast.
Former BBC chairman Sir Christopher Bland said the corporation should have responded quicker to complaints before the prank hit the national news at the weekend.
"The main lesson the BBC needs to learn is that a speedy apology and quick inquiry last week would have diffused much of the row," he said.
But he insisted there would be no long-term damage to the BBC.
"The idea that this calls the licence fee into question is absurd," he said.
In a statement, Brand said he took "complete responsibility" for the incident which he blamed on getting "caught up in the moment".
Ross and Brand were both suspended before Brand announced he was quitting his show.
Filming for this week's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross show was cancelled hours before it was due to be recorded.
Ross has apologised to Sachs personally and issued a public apology for his, "juvenile and thoughtless" remarks.
Brand had presented his Radio 2 show since November 2006 and was thought to be paid more than £200,000 a year by the BBC.

Friday Night With Jonathan Ross is one the best shows on TV and the highest rated for the BBC

Those related to a minor celebrity, and desperate for a bit of fame themselves, might see it differently.

Source Digital SpyThe BBC has suspended Jonathan Ross without pay for 12 weeks and issued a final warning to the star over his on-air conduct. The corporation's director general Mark Thompson accepted the resignation of Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas over the public row that embroiled the BBC after Ross and Russell Brand left a series of vulgar messages on the voicemail of Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs - messages that were subsequently transmitted on an October 18 edition of Brand's programme on the station. He said that "ultimate editorial responsibility for BBC programmes lies with producers and editorial managers", but added:"Nonetheless, Jonathan Ross's contribution to this edition of the Russell Brand show was utterly unacceptable and cannot be allowed to go uncensured or without sanction. A 12-week suspension is an exceptional step, but I believe it is a proportionate response to Jonathan's role in this unhappy affair."Jonathan Ross has already made a comprehensive and unreserved personal apology to Andrew Sachs and his grand-daughter. I believe that he fully understands the seriousness of what has happened. I have made very clear to him the central importance of the clause in his contract about not bringing the BBC into disrepute. We agree that nothing like this must ever happen again and that tight discipline will be required for the future." I guess ITV are happy

I daresay that if Ms. Baillie can whip up enough support, that programme will certainly get the go ahead. :pac:

finally on somebody on question time last night pointed out the sachs fame and fondess was based on him being dreadful stereotype, not something of taste.

After the scandal came to light, she said that it was disgraceful and they should be fired, a week later she had changed her tune and was thanking them for the publicity it gave her

Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs is being lined up to join the cast of Coronation Street.
The actor, who has been in the headlines recently over the Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand prank call scandal, is in talks to appear in the ITV soap next year.
The Daily Mirror reports that Sachs will play the brother of busy-body Norris Cole, who works alongside Rita in The Kabin.
A Coronation Street spokesperson said: "We first started working on a possible character for Andrew Sachs six months ago after learning that he was interested in joining the show.
“This was brought to our attention by Malcolm Hebden who plays Norris Cole. We have been in discussions with Andrew about the proposed storyline which would be seen on screen some time next year."
Andrew Sachs recently revived the Fawlty Towers character Manuel at a birthday celebration for Prince Charles. His most recent high-profile TV acting role was playing a paedophile in The Bill.

    Even Granddad is doing well
