Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was just wondering if anyone had attended weddings at the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry or the Meadow Court Hotel in Loughrea? We are also considering the Westwood Hotel in Galway city? The most important thing to us is that our guests will get a good meal in a relaxed setting.

Any advice or past experiences in these hotels would be great,

    thanks in advance..

    Hi curlybob,
I was at a wedding in the Meadow Court a number of years ago and it was really nice. Food was great too. Only problem is that it is small if you have a large group.
Raheen Woods I cant really comment on. But I have heard mixed reviews - all good lately. Teething problems at the start.
We got married this year in the Shannon Oaks in Portumna. Cant say enough about the hotel itself and the staff. They were unreal.

Had our wedding in Meadow Court some years ago - would highly recommend. Not many rooms for guests though but there are B&B's etc nearby.

There is a new hotel in Loughrea now - looks impressive. Don't know how good it is.

Have attended weddings in the following:

Claregalway Hotel - very nice. Good food.
    Shannon Oaks - ok
    Westwood Galway - very nice
    Galway Bay Hotel - ok.
    Salthill Hotel - very nice.

Some hotels specialise in accommodation and do wedding because they have a large function room.
    Other hotels specialise in weddings.
The Westwood has a great name.

Generally you can see from their website the emphasis the hotel puts on weddings.

The smart hotels with lots of weddings don't have to worry about accommodation.
The weddings alone fill the hotel.

I was in the Raheen lately and it looks really good.
The had some issues in the past but the new manager has sorted those.
The new hotel in Loughrea looks good.
They are certainly putting a lot into advertising.
I hear the Ard Ri in Tuam is also getting very popular.
The Claregalway hotel is another popular one.
