Im looking for some advise please. The quick story is this.

Im 26 years old. Ive worked in media for the last 5 years. Mainly in freelance video editing, camera work, graphic design and of the past two years media specialist. Ive worked in in Malaysia and Dubai and have acquired some good knowledge and experience in streaming video. Right now I am unemployed and am thinking of going back to study to further my career prospects. I dont think I could do more that a year so Im looking for some short courses.

My other option is stay in Ireland and try get employment (very hard in media and now with the slow-down) or possible move to Oz or Canada. My head is wrecked trying to figure out my next move so I hope someone here could lend me some advise.

It might be beneficial if you want to stay in Ireland to study for a year. The opinion of the moment is that it would be a good use of your time in investing it in yourself to further your career despite the current recession. Also you will have a year out of the rat-race to ride out the recession as it were.
You say that you have experience working in Malaysia and Dubai. Would your skillset suit another English speaking job in non-english climes?

Film Base and Screen Training Ireland do short courses. Also have you taught about studying abroad? Screen Training Ireland give bursaries to professionals who want to further their career but can't do the training in Ireland.

I'd definitely think about going to Canada or Australia with your experience. You should take advantage of the year working visa in these countries.
