pto on 5000 cracked.

    bascially one of the lads was spreading slurry - 1600 gallon with the ford 5000 and tractor jackknifed sligthly and cracked the pto off the tractor. Is this a big job to put in a new one. any help much appreciated

    I could be wrong but I remember changing a pto shaft on a 7710 from a 540 to 1000 spline and all that was holding it in was a large circlip. The older models might be different though

    the 5000 dosnt come with the option of the 1000 pto though just the 540
