    Not my plane (thankfully) and I wasn't the pilot either (thankfully x 2), so I'll have to tread carefully;), but I'd say:

    1. The Mustang isn't the easiest of planes to fly, coupled with
    2. Wind, and
    3. Pilot flew into the sun and momentarily lost sight

    which caused loss of control, and.............

    All in all, neither a mechanical nor electronic fault.
