hi quick question, purchased a used car last week, there is a bit of a problem with the immobiliser, the ignition wont recognise the keys till you click twice at the immobiliser thingy near the rear view mirror. Apart from that the car is going perfect but am worried that this is something that will get worse and end up costing more than the car is worth to fix it.

OP try putting the key in the door next time rather than using the remote fob. It there is no issue then it is the remote. Replace the battery then.

The same thing happend me, your microchip in the key is unprogrammed or broken, it wont damage the car but the car may come to a stand still if you dont sort it out. Try and get a spare key if that key works, bring the two keys to a good locksmith shop and get them to replace the microchip in the one which wont start the car, should will cost round €50. If neither keys work try and get the chasi number off the car, bring that to a renault dealer and he will get a key cut put this is a pricy way about it.
