Oh dear, Dooms not gonna like this! :D

I'm going with the old-school zombies. Zombies aren't able to communicate or use tools dammit!

Going for the modern Zombie, they could run as I remember, the other zombies didn't.

If you can read this, you're too close!

The classic zombie wins through perseverance. They can last forever (in theory), whereas the fast paced running zombie (not technically a zombie, but infected by a virus which has some similar traits as actual zombie-ism) deteriorate to the point of uselessness after three weeks.
Also the classic zombie can take much more damage than the 'modern' zombie. only destroying the brain will kill the former while the latter can be killed by piercing of the heart and other parts that would be considered vital to a human.
This 'modern zombie' is only a fad. the classic one shall remain long after they are gone.

edit: plus the 'modern zombie' can't see dogs, whats that all about?

This battle is wrong, it shoudl be "zombies vs Doom's shotgun."

I'm going to go with the lurchers on this one, they tend to move with a unified purpose and the danger with them is not speed or rage, it's weight of numbers and single mindedness. Sprinters wouldn't fight as a mob and eventually be overcome.

then I would destroy them all.

    I demand a Recount!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll go for the old school zombie, harder to kill:)

4-1 to Romero's creation, surprisingly one sided so far!

Galvasean puts forward a good arguement,
However I would have to go for the more modern Z , they look mean and can easliy chase you down. Classic Z are slow and unless you do something really stupid, they have no chance of catching a fit, albed bodied person

not a far fight dude, you would batter them!!

old school zombies should win striaght away, as they are actual zombies! not the poor mans zombies!

Tortoise and the hare. Except in this case when the hare inevitably falls asleep the tortoise devours him mercilessly.
The classic Z never tires. They are relentless. You have to stop some time. They don't.
The modern Z, while it's stamina is impressive does tire.
In fact over a long period of time the classic Z can cover a lot more ground than the modern one can in the same space of time.

edit: it would appear Moonspell has won the day again.

All good and valid points (esp the Monnspell one;))

If I had to chose a Z infestation, I would chose classic Z. For this reason I voted for my more feared enemy, the modern Z

Okay but your infestation will last 200 years. Mine will be over in a couple of months. :)

    Battle 20:

Alas I have to sit this one out. I am not familiar enough with their respective powers to cast a fair and balanced Fox News vote.
