As it turns out DBZ4 IS coming. Not much info as of yet.
Whats gonna be new in FM09?

Sort of vaguely 3D. And fixing regens, confidence and transfer system. And a dramatically increased assistant manager type feature to help you understand tactics better.

And hurrah for new Dragonball Z game I'm sure. ;)

Dungeon Keeper 2 had different sayings which were tied into the pc clock, from tis the witching hour and all curses are half price, to askinging if you had no lair to go to at 2am and other such taunts, it was a lot of fun to play.

Oblivion was pants in comparison to Morrowwind.

I loved Dungeon Keeper. I think one my friends kept playing it for years even though he completed it several times (he also did the same with fallout/2)

I miss having to keep horny locked up as he was a wrecking ball to you and the enemy.

Morrowind frequently had me sinking 16-18 hours straight into it overnight and heading straight into work after. Oblivion was prettier, but dead inside, like the corpse of a supermodel or something, I could never manage more than a couple of hours at a time.

Syndicate Wars took up frankly embarrassing amounts of my time and sleep back in the 90's.

I downloaded dosbox and figured it out and am now happily playing CM97/98 again :)
Hoping to take Zwolle to Dutch glory! (it's quite a pretty place in reality).

I've only recently discovered Oblivion after getting my PS3 a couple of weeks ago....my oh my what a frigging game!

Although i have a feeling Fallout 3 may take over from it next week,,,

The original Fallout series took up frankly too much of my childhood (and I'm more than a little excited to see what this new one is like). Others included Morrowind, Final Fantasy 7, and a little-known gem called Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 (historical turn-based strategy set in ancient China. Obscure premise I know but more addictive than crack!). Dont play too many video games these days but some of the more recent stuff to keep me occupied include Mass Effect and Neverwinter Nights. Anything long and wordy will generally get me going...

Final fantasy 7: addiction, keep going back. Finish it maybe 4/5 times a year. Far too good for this world! God help us if that PS3 tech demo ever becomes a reality.

ROSE Online: Worst mmorpg EVER but insanely addictive. I spent 100+ hours in 1 week trying to get butterfly wings, not gay at all...

Silkroad Online: Amazing game, many an hour killing tigers and robbing tradesmen. Pitty about the servers being so damn laggy...

CS 1.6: used to play 15+hrs a day during 4th year. Clans, matches, tournies, kz, bh, aim, fy, de, everything you ever needed to keep yourself entertained. Played a few reputable teams and beat a few, ATR and NIP jr. Good times :)

Haven't played computer games in over a year now. Feels good to have my life back lol...

Fable too is way to short:( only a day of gaming :(
Bring on the new FF series...*looking forward to 5 days without sleep and bloodshot eyes*

If they do a PS3 remake of FF7 I may have to break my vow of not giving Sony any more console money... >.>

master league. the main reason I sucked at college and the main reason im still awake now. its just so hard to not play "one more game" until you realise being tired is making you lose games. Oblivion as well. used to go to bed when I saw the sun coming up :o got soe sucked into that game.

have had fallout since wednesday but have failed to get into it. think Im goin to restart it on saturday morning when Im fresh, assuming I go ahead with my plan of staying away from drink this week:rolleyes: I have failed for the last 3 weekends though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,547 ✭✭✭Foxhound38

Its the same with me. I don't play video games all that often anymore but when I get totally engrossed in something I can do nothing else until its finished.

And I don't think that they will create a tech-demoesque remake of FF7. Why? Because it would most likely shut down the worlds economy as people would just stop turning up to work on release week to play it. I know if it came down to it thats what I would do!

Also the problem of bread-line like rioting and looting outside Game stores worldwide on the day of release :pac:

Oblivion fúcked up my sleep patterns for a long time. Fell asleep on the couch one day after a mammoth session and while asleep I started yapping on about some sword and kept saying "reference it on the map". Got a ripping for ages over that one.

It didn't help that while I wasn't bored per sé I'd started losing the love of it. I'd have quit but I was playing with her basically. But it certainly cost me a scary amount of time.

I'm pretty sure it was, one of the lads was starting off and I kept telling him to get that sword when ever he was playing it. I managed to get that fairly early on by mistake, was delighted with it.

Got stuck into Fable 2 the other night when I was getting ready to start on night shifts, it's pretty much ideal for bleary eyed gaming at 4am.

WoW used to keep me up until all hours even when I had work the next morning... So many wasted hours:(

Yep, even after deleting my character and swearing that I'd never waste another minute of my life playing it, I still get the occasional craving to start playing again.
I turned down a date so that I could play it, turned down countless offers from friends to go out, sacrificed sleep just so that I could grind a bit more... The game absolutely ruled my life and I hate looking back on those times.
I hate seeing a good friend still playing it incessantly as well, wish he'd cop on and leave it like I did:(

WoW is the scourge of gaming imo, but most people that play don't even realise what they're doing to themselves... It should be a controlled substance or just plain banned!

    3am rants ftw!

Meh, lots of people love it because it's addictive. It's our own fault for playing it though.

Fable 2 has been keeping me up a good bit this week.

Fun game.... but so many fecking bugs in it.

I've come to terms with the fact today that I'll never get all 50 Gargoyles as one of the quests is bugged for me.

Agreed, I don't even want to think about how much time I wasted playing. Played for just over 2 years, and that game caused so many sleepless nights, missed college assignment deadlines, exam struggles, sleeping late for work because I'd been playing late... And it's so easy to just keep playing for hours and hours.

All of that for a ****ing game. It's absolutely insane.

Okami had me up for the occasional 36 hour gaming session too, actually. The combination of amazing artwork and story was a potent one indeed.

PS3. It's when I sit down to take the GOAT exam... nothing happened and I couldn't stand back up... luckily going back to the autosave worked as it didn't happen the second time around.

    Picke fallout up yesterday.

Fantastic game, I'm hooked. I'm especially impressed with the improvements over Oblivion in little things such as adding in barbers.

Cranking up the whiskey and PC. It'll be a long night.
