It is a federal case they take time

Yep, it took several years before they nailed Vince McMahon for the roids in 1993, they'd been trying since around what, 83? 84?

Nah, steriods were made illegal in 1988-89.

I always thought it was earlier than that. They were legal provided you had a prescription, which is where Zahorian came into play, and then he got sent down and squealed to the feds.

Jim Johnson is going to be working through the night if they want to give cena a new theme for his return at Survivor series.

    It would make sense.

Not unless he came out with the Bostonian anthem.
If he got boo'd then, That would be harsh.

Legally can they not just remove that part of the song?

Jim Johnson is going to be working through the night <SCHNIIIPPPP!>

He won't have to, he once took a three chord ripoff of Deep Purple's Highway Star for someones entrance theme once. The guy was one of the biggest stars of the early 90s in WWE.

His name was The Ultimate Warrior.

I'm not too keen on seeing Batista/Cena for WM i'd prefer Cena/Orton or Cena/Jericho - the promos would be much better for one

Ah, pity , I gave up watching at start of 2005, but when Guerreros death happened at the end of 2005 I had to watch the Tribute episodes thus leading to getting back into the WWE.

It was Jericho's last feud/match before leaving WWE. Try and track down the Y2J/Cena match on the RAW after Summerslam the post match is great.

    That was a great feud.

Cashing totally into the cena hatred.

Rovert what did you think of the Cena/Y2J and Christian PPV match back in 2005? I know some people have described it as one of the worst triple threats of the last few years. I have never actually watched it as I had stopped watching wrestling towards the end of 2004.

That draft seemed to go on for half the bloody year, it was horrid.
Christian was on his way out at the time too, his contract was almost up at the time of that match.

John Cena will be challenging new World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho for the WWE title at Survivor Series :p

I hope they build this feud well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 85 ✭✭SASR

That's bound to be great, considering Jericho's somehow managed to pull a couple of good matches out of Batista this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

Bye bye title for Jericho, MEGACena is back.
After all, gots to appease the kiddies, right?

It would be better to give Jericho a lengthy reign as Champion and have Cena chasing the title build up the feud with great promos (both are great on the mic)

    its really crazy

cena isnt even back wrestling and bang he gets chance at the title

the back room wrestlers must be disgusted

just doesnt make sense anymore tbh:rolleyes:

is mike adamle gone for good now (please)

if so who'll be the general manager

It is fake mate, Cena is well liked and certionly more liked by his peers than others who have been in his position.

Exactly. Cena is WWE's top star like it or not. All the "entertainers" know this and no one would argue his spot in a main event even if it is after a lengthy return. It probably helps that he is well liked as Rovert has pointed out.

yeah i'd say the back room wrestlers are about as disgusted with this as they were when jericho got a title shot against randy orton straight after coming back from his two year hiatus last year at armageddon

Most wrestler will be happy if Cena on the show increases the buyrate, which in turn increases their PPV pay off. It makes little booking sense having Cena return and wreste for the title on the same show as you could get two PPVs out of both storylines. I dont why people are moaning about Cena wrestling for the first back as he "didnt earn it" or "he isnt number one contender", I never knew WWE paid that much attention to rankings when making title matches for PPVs in the past.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,100 ✭✭✭FeetMagic

Who deserves a title shot ahead of Cena? I think Cena/Jericho will be a fantastic feud esp if orton is added in at some stage.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

WWE needs Number One Contenders Trophy like ROH and Top Ten Rankings like early 90's WCW. :pac:

Much as i hate to say it, Cena is WWE's guy for RAW at the minute and so far Cena/Jericho seems to be the only reason to watch Survivor Series. I just think handing him the belt the minute he gets back when Jericho is on such a great run at the moment will kill the one thing RAW has going for it. One of the best heels it's had in a long time.

That said, i could easily live with Cena/Jericho for Wrestlemania if they drag it out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,376 ✭✭✭✭rossie1977

meh, not excited about this at all, cena and batista was thrown together without much planning in the hope that name value alone would sell the match, batista squishes cena clean in 11 minutes on ppv. batista and jericho fued was as bad as jericho/michaels was good.

now they throw cena and jericho together in the hope that it will bring in ratings after having cena job clean on ppv for six months prior to this.

Well Jericho is hanging on to the belt for a good while it will likely that after Survivor Series it will be three way fued with Cena/Y2J/Batista.

I could see them having Cena and Batista trying to get jericho for a couple of months and eventually when one of them gets the belt they could turn on each other. Give those two the build up they deserve and if Batista pulled another WM 23 it could be a Hogan Warrior-esque match at Mania with decent ring work

Sounds good to me on the grounds that Botchtista gets dropped out of the feud by the time Rumble or No Way Out comes along. :)

It also means a possible three way feud on Smackdown with Koslov/HHH/Hardy is totally out of the questions as the two would be too similar.

even with raw and smackdown both having elimination chambers and Championship Scramble on the same ppvs this year??

John Cena challenged Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to a match for next year's WrestleMania 26 event. He made the challenge on MTV News. He took a few more shots at The Rock during the spot, upping his recent tally even more.

    Check out the article at:

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1607906/20090326/story.jhtml

I for one would love to see The Rock V John Cena

That match would be instant money - I'd certainly pay to see it. Doubt it would happen though, don't see Dwayne getting back into the ring. He'd need to bulk himself back up, and would need to spend a couple of months hyping it on RAW too. Don't think he would have an interest in doing it regardless.

The build up would be incredible, the match itself woyuld be tosh. Its pie in the sky anyway, as it aint ever going to happen.

It does strike me of Cena having a right bug bear toward The Rock though.

I like Cena but I dont like these subtle but unnesecary shots he has been taking at the Rock recently. I do suspect that Vince may have had something to do with it, though. It wont happen though no matter how many shots Cena takes at The Rock, it would be huge though if it ever happened.
