Windows Live Messenger - is that what you mean? On which phone are trying to install it?
AFAIK, the Messenger client on Three is still only a Java midlet, and not a native Symbian application. But things might have changed? Can anyone confirm?

Yeah I tried this version on a nokia it wont work just keep getting a message saying can't connect. Also if you using an unbranded nokia it wont work you can install it but if you dont have the 3 certs its no good

I experimented a bit with this new jad file. Basically, there is something wrong with the size of the jar file as declared in the jad:

If you try to download the jar straight off, it installs alright, but it always gives the error message that you have to authorise network connections, even though I have defined an apn in the the settings for that particular midlet. Probably because by installing the jar straight on, you bypass the midlet permissions in the jad.

However I get this on an e51. I had no problems installing a previous v3.xxx version of the messenger app by deleting the rsa1 hash values and other cert info in the jar, but no go on this new jad.

Has anyone figured a way to put the 3 certs on to an unbranded phone?

Sorry I meant to clarify its a sony ericsson k530i . anyway, I called into a 3 store today about the problem and the guy at the counter said that he had a few people in complaining about it and that he would ring customer care for me, so we got through to some guy that had no clue ad went around in circles. So the guy behind the counter said that if it IS a dodgy file uploaded by 3 then odds are soon it will be replaced but if its the actual phone then they will need to send it away to get a new internal flash card. however now that you guys are having a similar problem this means its not just my phone and is probably a problem with the file its self

Might be a dodgy file. I deleted the 3 cert check from the jad, installed the app, but could never use it since it complained about network connections. I then uninstalled it, and after that the phone complained when I installed other midlets. It said "Unable to install". Had to format memory card, then the problem was gone. I'd say that new messenger left some strange file traces on the memory card that had to be wiped out completely. Well, I have the old v3-someting of 3 MSN Messenger working fine so will stick with that instead.

So just a word of caution for others messing around with this file on Symbian phones.
