i can create a query to file1 from file2 and pull in the data i need,
however to do this i need to map a drive to the http server.
i dont want to do this as i would prefer if others can update the file as needed.

is there anyway to do this?

Why map a drive just use the full URL \\Server\Sharename\Filename

just kidding, i tried that there and it works.
i wasnt able to access the file that way yesteday, so i think i must have been having some issues
