Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone here have any news from the recent public meeting for a proposed 'Cork Community Radio'?
I saw nothing in the press after the meeting, apart from this picture (click to show) in a free newspaper (Weekly):

I expect the Cork Community Radio group would initially apply for a trial temporary licence, perhaps over a series of 15 weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) - as other such groups have done, before applying for a fulltime licence.

An arrangement to use the studios of Cork Campus Radio 98.3 (which are otherwise lying unused at weekends) for the temporary licence would make a lot of sense for both groups?

Meanwhile in Co. Cork normal broadcasting resumes from Community Radio Youghal (C.R.Y.) 104.0 this weekend after just over a year in limbo - their previous full-time licence came to an end in October 2007 (though they did use a 30 day temporary licence to broadcast on selected days in the past year)

see end of page 16 of
    http://www.youghalnews.ie/issues/october3008.pdf

"It is all systems go now that representatives from Community
Radio Youghal have returned home with the Station’s copy of a
new 10 year contract signed with the Broadcasting Commission of
    Ireland.
Noel Cronin (Secretary) and Mervyn Scott (Vice Chairperson)
travelled to Dublin on Tuesday October 21st to sign the new contract
on behalf of the Board of CRY 104fm. Also present was veteran
journalist John Waters (representing the BCI Board) and
Head of Broadcasting at the BCI, Ciaran Cissane.
It is only a matter of days until this vital community station comes
back on air this coming Saturday, November 1st at 7am. In the
coming weeks, there is going to be a "whole lot more on 104!".

Life FM is a religious station, deemed "Community of Interest" station by the BCI.

Cork Community Radio would be just a "Community" station with no special interest groups involved, that is the difference.

Maybe has something to do with their fanciful notion that they are in the real capital. ;)
