Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I have recently begun selling some of my photos on my website as a sideline (www.ciaranmchugh.com).

Today I got an email from a theatre/Irish music group who want to use some of my a visual background to a small show, touring the US this December performing 13 concerts. The show will be a combination of traditional music, song, dance along with a projected photographic slide-show.

They are proposing to pay me a fee per photo used and credits would be given in the show programme for photographs used, and website information would also be made available.

Anyone have any idea how much to charge per photo and any tips on how to provide images to them in such a way as to protect my copyright?

This is very new to me but the US exposure would be great.

    Thanks

Ianal, but my understanding is that your copyright is protected under various international treaties so you need to decide on the terms of the license you grant. I'd try a google search for say 'sample license agreement photo'.

By way of brainstorming some questions to get answers to are about the extent to which the images are intended to be used beyond the slideshow:
Promotional material eg posters, web/print articles, event programmes, video etc
Is it for a limited duration or number of performances?
Is it for a limited geographical area?

Once you know these things you could probably cog off a sample from the google search and explicitly limit the license to what they've said they need.

No idea on pricing, it's a tough one, on the one hand you don't want to blow the opportunity but then you want your slice of any cake. Sorry I'm not of more help, hope it goes well.
