    Hi,

Anyone have an idea of roughly how much a taxi would cost for 2 from Maynooth to Dublin Airport early in the morning (around 6.30am).

    Cheers,
    Sadista

In or around 55 squids. I got a taxi from Enfield a few times and it was about 80.

Maynooth-Airport on the meter would be approacing €80; the M50 is deceptively long and the road toll needs to be allowed for as well.

If you can, ask the driver to approach the airport at the Ballymun turn-off (Junction 4) and it will cut off a few miles the trip as well as a few minutes.

You're not going to get a meter cab in Maynooth, though.

Should be around 60 from Maynooth/Express. I also got it 60 on a meter the opposite direction but that was on the old fare structure...

You could always get a private hire car/driver if a taxi's not an option.

    Here's some options:

I reckon it would be €50 to €55, however if you ring a local taxi firm I'm sure they'll give you a fixed price. I priced it here http://www.worldtaximeter.com/dublin and it ran at €51 not including the toll, that sounds about right to me.

That size tends to be quite off the mark with some of it's calculations at times, and it doesn't seem to take night rates into account. Take it with a little salt.

Do they not have taxis in Maynooth then? Serious question because if they don't I might get my psv license to cover there...

We've two or three hack firms and absolutely no plate cabs - although a few plates do appear late at night doing off-meter work with the hack firms (not sure about the legality of this? If it gets me home I don't really care...). Its like the 1990s still, hack firms have freephone phones put in supermarket foyers and all.
