i'd would recheck those blue dragon noodles again. make sure your pointing dried weight, i've always found blue dragon to be some the worst out there.

Amoy straight to wok do a few different types of noodles. which are quite good pp value. there all different types are different pp values you'd have to check the packets cos i cant remember them off the top of my head

pasta/rice/noodles should be pointed dry if possible cos cooked weight all depends on how much water you cook them in, and how long for...the longer you cook them for the more water they absorb and weight heavier
this is were I went wrong! I pointed 60g of COOKED rice as 6 ooops! so no wonder I nearly cried when I saw how little is was.tongue.gif

Trawling the net looking for easy, simple but tasty (and obviously low PP) lunch ideas but there is just sooo much out there and I don't really like any of it. A lot of it involves pre-cooking or loads of ingredients I don't like (i'm quite fussy), so just wondering does anyone have any good lunch idea?

Or even fillings ideas for wraps or pitta's? Getting sick of tuna and lettuce.
I was feeling the same today, struggling to get used to this new system even though I think it's great. today I pointed some brown bread cut up 60g of cooked chicken, tomatoes, onion and mushroom and 20 grams of low fat cheese, grilled it all and had some salad with it yummy worked out as 8 PP

Wondering does antibiotics effect your weight gain loss!!! I have mastitis ouch had to go to the doc this morning! so sore!

good luck again to all with exams!

That is what the thread is for - support for people having a rough time as well as tips for helping others. People, especially those doing WW at home, need the extra support and somewhere to moan, if necessary, to those that are going on a similar journey.

How much of the thread have you actually read recently to come up with that conclusion? Even if you read back a couple of pages you get a mix of people looking for advice, people offering advice, people complaining/venting, people encouraging each other, recipe ideas, etc etc. This thread is far better than meetings, for me anyway, and I'd be lost without being able to post in here on both good days and bad days!

I think that's a little harsh, theres been plenty of Positivity here over the last few days.
This thread is for support and weight loss is not an easy journey, it's only natural that were gonna post here on the bad days, looking for support and advice.

Just this morning, someone asked for lunch suggestions and lady lainy posted some great recipes from the WW website. She also posted good articles yesterday on metabolism among other things.

I get great advice here I wasn't home 5 minutes from my first meeting and I was on looking at all the posts and the great ideas and its great to have somewhere to rant now and again i bet most of out other half's are sick listening to us,so to have somewhere to go where other people know what a person is going through is great.
By the way is there many men on here or is it all lady's:).

Planning ahead will help you make conscious choices every day about what you need to do when it comes to losing weight.

Whatever the weather or circumstances, take the first step towards controlling the situations that can trip you up.

My children are off school this week
During school holidays your 'usual' routine - the one that's been so successful for you - goes out the window. So here's what you need to do: make a fresh plan that you and the children can enjoy together.

Your schedule could include shopping trips, outings to the cinema or an afternoon at Grandma's. Not only will your children have something to look forward to, you'll know in advance so you can plan what to eat, or take a packed lunch.

Besides, if the children are busy and amused, they'll be happy and you won't be stressed. And if you're busy with them you won't even have time for mindless munching. Go on, have fun; your kids are only young once!

I'm going on holiday - help!
It's perfectly understandable for you to be nervous about sticking to your ProPoints budget while you're on holiday. Eating out, the change in routine and those tempting hotel mini bars can all be a challenge for you and your food plan. But that doesn't mean you can't have fun!

The trick is to set realistic goals. You don't have to lose weight while you take a break. Instead, set your holiday goal to maintain the weight you've already lost.

While you're away, try to stick to basic healthy habits rather than obsessing about every single ProPoints value. These include:

•Eating plenty of fruit and vegetables.
    •Watching your portion sizes.
•Not overdoing it on alcohol, sugary or fatty foods.

But most importantly, let your hair down a little bit! A holiday is one of the few times you get each year to truly kick back and relax.

    1. Pack some healthy snacks in case you're hungry between meals. your meeting is full of good snacks to pack.

    2. Study the eating out guides before you leave so you'll be able to make wise choices from restaurant menus.

    3. Take every opportunity to exercise. Walk around airports while waiting for connecting flights, plan walking tours, go dancing or use the hotel gym.

My friends have invited me out for a meal
We hope you accepted - there's absolutely no reason for you to say no.
In fact, it'll be a good exercise for you. You don't have to deprive yourself by staying at home - you should feel good about having a meal with your friends. The truth is that you'll be more likely to stick to your food plan if you adjust it to fit your lifestyle, and not the other way around.

So go out to eat, and make your ProPoints budget work for you. There are a number of options. You could:

    1. Use some of your weekly ProPoints allowance - that's what it's for!.
    2. Earn activity ProPoints values by doing a little exercise.

Bottom line: Enjoy yourself. You deserve to have fun socialising!

Oh no! Someone bought me a box of chocolates
OK, so you've got an unexpected box of chocolates? Your first step is deciding what to do with them. Remember, the ProPoints System is flexible, so there's no reason why you can't enjoy one or two… so long as you count the ProPoints values.

However, if you find it difficult to stop at just one, have a back-up plan in place. Share the chocolates with your family, friends or work colleagues - or use your weekly ProPoints allowance to count them and enjoy them!

Wholewheat pasta where have you been all my life!!! I AM STUFFED!!! Never thought I would like it as I hate brown rice, but it actually tastes the same.

The Tesco Healthy Living Frozen beef mince was grand, I didn't notice any difference although I did have it lathered in garlic and herbs. Just looks like any other mince although no fat comes out when you cook it.

The meatball pasta bake recipe is as follows (nom):

Meatball Pasta Bake – 10PP per serving – Serves 4

500g Tesco Light Choices Frozen mince (19PP)
    1 large onion chopped
    1 tablespoon chopped parsley
    1 teaspoon dried oregano
    Low fat spray
200g dried wholewheat twirl/penne pasta (18PP) (I used Tesco Wholewheat Fusilli)
    2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
    2 garlic cloves chopped (I used 5)
100g pack light mozzarella drained & chopped (4PP) (I used the Aldi 50% less fat one)

    1. Mix the beef, onion and herbs in a bowl with some seasoning. Shape into walnut sized balls.
    2. Spray frying pan and heat until hot. Add the meatballs for about 7-8 mins until browned all over (don't need to be cooked through) then remove and set aside.
    3. Preheat oven to 170c for fan oven, 180c/190c if it is not fan assisted.
    4. Bring a pan of water to the boil and add pasta, cook for about 5 mins or half of recommended cooking time on packet. Drain and mix with garlic and tomatoes.
    5. Spoon pasta mix into an ovenproof dish, nestle the meatballs into pasta and top with mozarella.
    6. Bake for 25-30 mins until bubbling.

I had mine with half of the WW garlic ciabatta for an extra 3PP.

Have made my lunch for tomorrow and looks gorgeous. 40g wholewheat pasta (4PP), lettuce, baby tomatoes, radishes, cucumber and 25g salami (2PP). Also mixed the pasta in some low fat mayo but it wasn't enough to point so lovely big lunch for 6PP. Forgot to add the parmesan shavings but it looked so nice and big that I omitted them and saved 2PP.

Yeah I cooked an oven dish of it which I had one portion of tonight and it will do me for another 3 days. Going to make something else tomorrow and that's me for the week :) Once something is nice, don't mind eating it a few times.

That meatball pasta sounds yum, will deffo be trying it sometime.
My OH can't have anything high fibre, so I just use the normal pasta and rice for convenience, must get some wholewheat for a night I'm just cooking my own, sounds much better value than the normal stuff.

Did any see the WW supplement in this weeks rte guide? There's a story of a girl who lost over 11stone in it. She look fab now, fair play to her.
Some lovely recipes too, one for a nice strawberry cheesecake, will post it during the wk.

Just thought I would share 2 of my quick easy to prepare meals

2 WW naan's garlic and corriander 2x3 pp 6 pp
half bag of crunchy salad 0pp
    3tbs extra ligt mayo 1pp
    2 tbs chilli sauce 0pp

    13pp in total

    1 aldi lemon sole 4pp
2 potatoe cakes 7 pp (mash direct- dunnes fresh food section)
    half bag of salad
    3tbs extra light 1pp
    2 tbs chilli sauce 0pp

Good evening everyone from France. I made it, eldest daughter's chickenpox cleared up & youngest hasn't come out in spots - yet! Was sick with nerves travelling with them on my own today, so didn't have much of an appetite all day, until this evening when we went out to an italian & I had carbonara. The kids menu had dessert included, but neither of mine wanted any. The old me would have got the desserts & had some myself as they were included, but we just said we didn't want any. Then we went to the supermarket & stocked up on loads of fruit. Heading to Disney tomorrow & there won't be any fruit there so I'll bring my own to snack on.

Good luck to everyone with exams starting soon. I remember those days, it was so long ago for me - 20 years since I did my finals at uni! And good luck to everyone with their WIs. I'll miss mine this week.
