Scales are giving me nothing at the moment. Still hovering around the bloody 12 stone! :( :P

But, I'm being a weightwatchers angel, and I hope it pays off! I've been in points. Went out on Saturday and pointed all my drink (which was a lot) and still managed to be in points.

I joined my local gym and I'm loving it! I've been in 3 days in a row really pushing hard at the cardio and some weights!

I really hope the effort pays off now! Or I will really have to chop a leg off Thursday afternoon!

Arm would be a better idea - you use your arm less!!! :P:P:P

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,664 ✭✭✭doctorwhogirl

True that, I might not miss my left arm.

My leg would weigh more though so I'd get more value out of my pain...

    Touch decision!! ;)

Drugs numb the pain but you can't have a cup of tea on the couch to comfort you unless someone else brings it for you  Arms mean you can do much more!!

you can't open the fridge door with your leg..........so you'll eat less if you chop off an arm!;)

    Oh hai:)

I'm on day three, early days I know! I must say I must surprised at the ease with which I could incorporate WW into the daily routine - I just thought it wouldn't be too bad, but its brilliant!

On a side-note, anyone know how many points are in a large latte w/vanilla syrup?? Ordered it before I remembered!!:(

    Hey all,

I started ww 2 weeks ago tonight.

First weigh in was 13 stone 1

I would like to get down to probably 10.5 stone eventually (or maybe even 10) but my imediate goal is to drop to 11 stone for May (wedding dress shopping)

On my first week I lost 3.5 pound and I was delighted

This week I thought I was going to lose a similar amount but I stayed the same. Quite gutted about it because I had been very good.

Weird thing is wii fit weighs me at 2 IB lighter (started at the same weight)

I even weighed myself as soon as I got home from the meeting etc and it still showed lighter- anyway- shure thats life eh

your not the only one who is noting that. Just remember u are doing this for you, not ur leader. So keep heart and don't lose focus, as long as ur wii board is on a firm surface and is in the same position each time, it is reasonably accurate. Well done.:D

    Morning all!

Well it's a bit of a miserable one. And I haven't been too good, motivation went a bit to the wayside this week, and I'm putting it down to not tracking. For the last few weeks prior to this, I'd been super focused tracking everything to try and shift the weight I'd put on over the Christmas, but I don't think the tracker got filled once I got to Friday! So no surprise I put on a pound at yesterday's weigh in.

It's kind of annoying but I know this week cannot be too saintly as I had a dinner party last night (wasn't carnage - but there was cake and mucho vino!) and am heading to one tonight and also have a night out over the weekend. It sucks when life gets in the way doesn't it!!

So I'm just going to try and track everything ANYWAYS. Because I think that tends to be my problem. I only want to track when I'm being really good and find it really hard to track when I know I'm eating/drinking too much and would rather go on in ignorance! So I'm gonna dredge up my food diary which must be on page 3 or four by now and track everything I've eaten today good or bad. It's gonna be an effort but I'm hoping I can just push myself to write everything down and hopefully that might have a good effect!

    Fingers crossed!

    MORNING !

I went to my 3rd ever ww meeting and the dreaded weigh in yesterday and was late so had to weigh in after the meeting- i was in such shock that i didnt even think to ask for my silver seven because................

    DRUMROLL PLEASE

i lost EIGHT lbs this week! and i ate chocolate and an indian and when i finished the indian i ate my housemates leftovers! *shame*
i am putting it down to a combination of exercising daily, tracking and being gleefully post PMS water retention!

dont lose faith peeps! you can do it!

Well done all_smilz - that's an amazing loss! Just shows everything done well brings the good results!

wow everyone on here is doing amazing. I have my second weigh-in on Friday and I am completely dreading it. I don't feel like I did good at all this week. There is a huge improvement in what I'm eating compared to what I used to eat, but I feel like I could have gained. Dread

Would imagine if you are a man they would say "its all a myth - fecking women"

But it is not a myth, you can put on 4lb from your period and it is proven, one week you are 10st, next week after being good you have peroid and you could be 10st 5lb...

  • Registered Users Posts: 129 ✭✭TheScriptFan

Hi All...this is a great thread!! Really motivating! I just joined WW for the first time on Monday, and I have to say the leader was lovely, really encouraging and helpful. I have quite a fair few pounds to lose, but am starting off with that 5% goal, and I'll keep that in view!
Anyone have any tips? Hardest part for me is the evenings, I'm very good during the day, but I get home and I'm like a hound!! I'll have to combat that on the nights I'm at home..
    Well good luck everyone!
P.S. anyone know how I get one of those weight measurer thingys I see some people have at the bottom of their post, showing how far they've gone/to go??

caddyboo- ive been told you can put to 7lbs on at TOM its all mostly water retention and to try combat it drink plenty of water to flush your system out especially at that time of the month.

scriptfan- go to tickerfactory.com and you can make up trackers for anything you can think of put in your details and then just paste in the url code thingy into your signature on here. im like you my problem is in the evenings too. i try to keep myself occupied instead of sitting down to watch telly as thats when i get the munchies big time. ill go out for a walk or im off to aquafit tonight. if im not doing anything ill try to have some low point snacks handy like sugar free jelly 0pts curly wurlys are handy too 2.5pts and of course the pink"n"whites wack em in the microwave for a few seconds and they are great for a sweet treat!

    What look??

Your Leader's sound mean, I have had 5 different Leaders and have never gotten a look if up! More, where did you go wrong, well work on that next week. A lot of the people in this thread seem to be afraid of their Leader. I don't think any Leader is meant to be scary, they are there to help and encourage you.

Remember your doing in for yourself not the Leader. At the end of the day they have lost their weight and are only trying to help you do the same. :)

Hey all, congrats to all who had a loss this week! I haven't been on much this week cos I've been crazy busy but still managing to keep the food diary and its obviously working cos I was down 3lbs this week!! Absolutely thrilled as I stayed the same last week so a total of 9.5lbs so far. Had set myself a target of 10lbs by Valentines day which I hope I will still achieve cos I've a major session on sat. Just gotta make sure i'm really good the rest of the week so I keep going in the right direction!!! :D

Its like a pitying cringy look, I have never gotten it from her, but have seen others getting it. Id say she doesnt even realise she is doing it, she is a very nice woman and Im not scared of her.
This lady really cares,I have been to others and its a case of 'oh your down, or oh your up, next person please'
    GIRLTATU: well done that fantastic!!

I started again last night, this is my 3rd time doing WW - it worked for me the first time but hasn't any other time - hopefully it will this time!

Goal is around 4.5st, I'm on 25 points a day but this should go down soon as I'm just over the stone bracket, so once I lose 1.5lb I'll be down a point.

I'm excited about it which is a good thing, I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Hi guys, was down a pound, delighted, was so dreading wi. Only a half pound now to silver 7s. Dont feel like Im down that much but going to keep at it!

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,503 ✭✭✭✭jellie

girls if youre getting any sort of dirty looks from your leaders id be going elsewhere. my leader is a lovely woman who offers nothing but support. if youre up she checks you understand why you were up and encourages you to get back into it, never making you feel bad.

re: being up when you have your period - i was up 4lb one week and i nearly cried. i was in shock. the next week the 4lb dropped right off - we had a substitute leader in that week and she was all "wow! are you delighted?!" & i was like eh no just relieved :D ive my weigh-in tonight & TOM turned up today so im dreading it :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 136 ✭✭fendigal

Oh girls now im dreading next wk..TOM is due so i mite just be up too :S hopefully not.
Well weigh in last nite and i was down 3lbs i was shocked i had such a bad feeling this wk but i didnt stick to my points so i guess i wasnt as bad as i thought. Ive 4.5lbs to go to get my first stone..hopefully in d nxt 2 wks.

Really fancy sausages for d tea this evening..i know in the book it says 1.5 points for a skinny sausage but i just cant help but think its more, any ideas for a normal pork sausage?Thanks..

Well done to all on the weight loss this week. Girls i agree about 'The look' i had one leader once years ago and it was like facing ur teacher without your home work being done..it was horrible and would put u off going if ud know ud had a bad wk which is not right. The new girl im going to now is really lovely and very supportive. She gives a great talk too..im so happy i decided to go bak and give it a go :D

Well I'm off to my 2nd wi in a few mins and I'm very nervous. Its been a crazy week and I've been bold as I haven't been feeling the best this week. OH has decided he's going to drive me to the meeting and wait outside for me until the meeting is done, he's finally getting it that support is vital at the start of this long process! Well, hopefully next time I post it will be positive!

It's strange at my very first meeting the friend I went with advised me that I'd always be a pound or two up round my period, but in my three years Weight Watching I never have been. I don't have a clue why? Some people obviously do go up, others don't. So don't dread weigh in if it is your TOM :) You may be surprised. Keep drinking the water. The dreaded weekend is nearly upon us, we did the circle thing at our meeting the other night where you see where you need to improve and I got alcohol and socialising! I always loose my will power when drinking and hungover so think I'm going to stay dry this weekend!!!!!! Any tips from anyone on this?
