How do I go about dropping out?

Do i just need to go to the student desk in Tierney?

Is it worth speaking to the student advisor first?

    Thanks and such . . . ..

It's most definitely worth speaking to a student advisor. I've done so myself in the past and found them very helpful. I also had thoughts of dropping out when I was a first year but I stuck it out and I'm glad I did.

Think about it carefully and talk through your concerns before making any decisions.

Student advisor wasn't available and the programme office was closed. Looks like it has to be monday.

All you have to do is get a form from your programm offcie, they will advise you to talk to Student advisors and stuff.. its your choice.
But I think that you will have to pay half of your fees now..

No, the point was that you will have to pay fees for half a year if you go back to college again.

i also am considering dropping out, and was curious about fee implications.
do you know if you get half your fees back? or do you keep it on file for when/if you go back to college?
and if you go back can you take up where you left off? eg in year 3 arts, start at year 3 again.

Actually, I'm wondering the same thing. Can I get half of the fees back considering I'm going before Christmas? Also, is it even worth my while sitting Christmas exams?

ETA: Actually, never mind. Just spoke to the SU welfare officer, Conor Fingleton. He says there's no way to claim back the registration fees at this point.
