The Hillwalker's Manual - Cicerone

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has read this and if they would recommend it. Looking for something that'll give an introduction to techniques, navigation etc.

Local bookstore (small) has this one on the shelves so might pick it up as a weekend read.

I haven't read this book, but would strongly recommend

Mountaincraft and Leadership by Langmuir, it was the proscribed text for the moutnain leader course, (well about 10 years ago anyway)

I'll second that recommendation.

I've found most Cicerone publications to be quite good too, so it's worth having a closer look to see if it ticks all the boxes for you.
