    congrats on your descision!

    in regard to trying be prepared that it may not happen instantly, it may take anything up to 12 months for your cycle to return to normal. go to your gp and get your rubella immunity checked as if this is out of date you will be asked not to try for three months.

    begin taking folic acid and a good prenatal vitamin, boots have them, they are all more of the same so dont worry about brands. start tracking your cycles so you have an idea of when your period is due and when you might be ovulating.

    As for choosing the se.x of the baby some people use the shettles method. (google is your friend;)) but beware it is not really that reliable, i wish you the best of luck!!

    Hi Missbusy

    Now I've heard that to have a girl you should have sex up to the day you ovulate and then not on teh day or after. SO you would have to use those OPKs.

    Appartenly the boy sprem swim faster but die sooner and the girl sperm take their tiem to get to the egg bu last longer.(I read this off another forum will try and find some evidence)

    Buy the book 'Taking Charge of your fertility' by Toni Welsher. It'll tell you everything you need to know.

    Found this on the shettle method;
    "Determining when you ovulate is vital when you are learning how to conceive a girl. Shettles recommends that you have sex 2 1/2 to 3 days BEFORE ovulation in order to increase your chances of conceiving a girl. Having sex closer to ovulation will dramatically decrease your chances of conceiving a girl. The timing of intercourse in relation to ovulation is a vital factor in increasing your chances of having a girl."

    Try not to obsess too much about it. It will happen when it's meant to.

    Good luck!
