both record lows for Nov and in fact these figures would rank 4 and 3rd lowest in December.
    Records back to 1999.

I'd be surprised if that record stands for long!
Still sub zero here at -1.5°C, ground likely to stay frozen all day in the shade areas.
I reckon its probably not going to get much above 4°C here today if at all.

Yes but November has only 2 days left, but yes you may be right :)

I'd be surprised if Dec records aren't rewritten and perhaps overall records.

I wasn't surprised at all MM you going subzero. I'm interested in your low Dp recorded.
It looks as if the SW/W wind has been lifted and dried out more by the mtns than any other station in the east.

    Min air 0.9C
    Min Dp -0.6C

Don't know what its like here in Maynooth temperature wise buts its very cold and the sky is cloudless. Cars all frozen over of course so must be still about 2-3 degrees.

Defo. -0.4c here currently after low of -1.3 at 8.30am. Clear skies apart from some shower clouds way out west. :)

Temperature rising fast in the sunshine, currently 2.2°C, not so confidant about my earlier 4°C forecast now! Still plenty of frost in the shade though., tonight should have a pretty decent frost again.
Regarding rain showers, I think in this air stream that dew points and temperature will plunge during the shower as its cold air aloft, so dew point isnt that important compared to frontal stuff if you want something wintry.

    At 9 O'clock it was 0c feeling like -2.

I put some clothes on and went back to bed for an hour and a half when i noticed the central heating was off, lovely having nothing to do today. :)

Up to +3.0c here. Blazing sunshine.

Meanwhile,Lugnaquilla is covered in freezing fog!

    5.2c here
    Dp 1.8c

Disappointing daytime dewpoints given the origin of the air.
    It's rain territory...

Well, after a very frosty and clear start to the day, cloud has moved in and it is ....

    ....raining.
Just rain showers, nothing wintery about them. No sign of snow on mountains either. (Sligo, btw...)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,736 ✭✭✭ch750536

cooling down here even though the cloud has come in, a good sign.

Damn. That is very disappointing given your location. It looks like the BBC weather was spot on again with their charts. They showed showers in the form of rain and sleet over the north west today and tomorrow. i guess the time of year maybe a factor.

The clouds are beginning to roll in now. currently it's 3c.

Cool and crisp, sun shining. About 6c, was -1c around quarter past eight this morning.

5.8°C, likely to be the days high.
Wonder will I beat last years November minimum of -3.1°C tonight, certainly a possibility.
