The rear suspension on my '95 Ford Escort squeaks quite alot whenever I go over ramps and so on. It's been doing it for a couple of months now. Any suggestions on what maybe at fault? Thanks.

Probably the springs are broke or just need replacing.

Its likely that your anti roll bar bushings need replacing.

If the rear suspension is anything like the Fiesta from around then, there's rubber bushings that probably need replacing.

would that not just be a knocking noise?

No, if there was play in the link arms connecting the anti roll bar to the shock you would get a knock over rough ground. The anti roll bar bushings creak with age. Greasing them can cure it but they are usually cheap so you may aswell replace them when you have them off. I fit a set to my brothers 99 escort, were not to bad to do.
