Hmm...wouldn't people look at you funny when you are walking into the shop or something?
I suppose loudly saying "I mean no harm, I promise!" should do the trick :D

and away from hats... is there any oil etc you can put on piercings to stop them drying up in the wind, and getting all cracked n nasty? having some really cold spells here, as well as surfing minimum of 3 times a week, which i think is drying out my neck piercings a good bit. anything to do to moisterise them, and anything i should definitely NOT put on them? (eg, E45, bepanthen...?)

What about fresh-ish piercings? If the skin gets to dry in the cold, aren't salt soaks and soap making it even worse?
    I'm confused now

salt soaks are there to prevent infection, however they will dry out the piercing. best bet is to wear a wooly hat or something with ear flaps on it that wont get caught in your ears. if clothing covers the piercings its all good. only my ears are getting whiney everything else is groovy

    Thanks, Will!

My hat is my best friend :D
Hope your ears feel better soon!

Just out of interest, are some piercings more prone to it than others?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,183 ✭✭✭✭Will

    What getting sore?
Ones that aren't covered by clothing, my labret doesn't really get sore unless it's stupidly cold, like well below sub zero temperatures

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 631 ✭✭✭ebmma

Both of my earlobes. They alternate between a bit sore and quite sore, they don't hurt by themselves, just if they get touched (by the hat too). And a bit more gunk is coming out them than usual.

However my newer and more exposed to the elements eyebrow piercing gives me no trouble whatsoever.
