Mov files into Windows Movie Maker

    I shot a number of videos with my digital camera and I want to edit and join a few together using Windows Movie Maker and upload them to YouTube, the problem is that Windows movie maker does not take .mov files.
    If i do convert them to something like .avi and then edit them, I'll have to convert them back again so that I can post them on YouTube... can anyone help me out with either a recommended conversion program or an alternative way of doing this?

    Convert them to WMV with SUPER.
    Use the wmv's in movie maker
    Upload the finished wmv to youtube.
