Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

1 Question: The Umph is in the shop. The guy rang me last night looking for €650 euro.

    Parts Supplied

    a new rear tyre,

    a battery, (€120)

filter for end of scott oiler line (it was clogged and preventing suction - which I told him)

    Jobs done:

    Fitted rear tyre,

Put back on scottoiler &put in new filter

Put on new reg plate & eliminator (supplied by me)

installed new horn (Stiebel Supplied by me)

    general service

    failed to fix heated grips

How much should all this cost?

    I think €650 is a mad price?

    What do you guys think?

When he gives you the invoice it will all make sense

I got a little less done noty too long ago and it ended up costing me the same, and the labor was really reasonable at 36e ph

    Don't explode.
But might be no harm making a few enquiries before you pick it up. €120 sounds a bit mad to me for a battery, even the best ones (Yuasa) are usually <€80. Phone paddys pitstop (018559711)for a tyre quote.
Even if there charging €60/hour labour it doesn't sound to me like theres more than 2 hours work in what you described.(if they know what there doing:rolleyes:)
Of course the tyre/battery price and time would depend somewhat on the bike involved. You didn't mention the model.

Don't explode........Of course the tyre/battery price and time would depend somewhat on the bike involved. You didn't mention the model.

...indeed, changing the Battery on an R1150RT involves removing half the (very) large fairing.....

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Yeah. I'm guessing its a Triumph, and its in bikeworld. The main reason people in Ireland rarely buy Triumphs.
Edit: just from reading here. No personal experience with them myself whatsoever.

Parts as mentioned could be half of that. You say they did a 'general service', so did they use service parts too? Id say you should ask the shop for a breakdown and labour cost. Ask them to break down the work time for you.

Some batteries can cost that much. Cant say if you were stung without knowing what it was.

Batterys cost from 30 -80 tops- i reckon 3 hours labour is fair- how many did he say- what area is shop in?
