try the memory configurator from http://www.memoryc.ie/memory_configurator/index.html

Just put in the make and model, and it will do the rest for you :)

Thanks Manties but this does not work as the manufacturer iQon is not on the list. I also tried searching by model but got nothing either.

Opened up compartment on laptop to look at existing RAM make, it is:
    256MB KINGMAX (32x64)SOD21-88KM

I am still not sure what this is or how much more I should or would be able to get. Any ideas?

What is the model of the machine? Ill have a search online to see fi i can find out how much it will take, and then link you to the ram.

The model I used for the search was the same as system model above:
    System Model
    MTC Montara-GML FAB-2
Not sure what this is but it came up I ran the Belarc Advisor software

okay turn the laptop over, and there should be a sticker on the base that will give you the model name. MTC Montara-GML FAB-2 is the name and coed of the motherboard.

The model name should always be on the laptop somewhere, around the keyboard, or screen perhaps. But almost always un a sticker on the underside of the lapotop.
