Wiring into a boiler house

    Hi,

Does anyone know whether there is special steps to be taken when bringing cables into a boiler house that is built into a house.

To do so will mean drilling holes in the fireproof concrete roof of the boiler house which makes me wonder whether this would be a fire hazard or in the event of a fire, would it allow smoke to enter the house through the hole.

So I am basically wondering what way do electricians bring cables in?

P.S. In my house, the roof appears to be the only option that I can see as it is accessible from the attic.
