I stayed in "The George" Boutique hotel on O'Connell street. Just done up and good value. Watched Munster and Glasgow.

depends an how much your willing to spend really...marriot and george are right in the city center...jurys in and the strand are a 2 minute walk...actually the strand would be a good choice for game day...thomond park is prob a 15min walk from there...

All Blacks are supposedly staying in the Strand so that would be a great place if you can get availability. Nice easy walk to stadium from there, 20 mins. Just across the bridge to city centre.

thanks guys will have a look at them...i think the strand is booked out. looking for as cheap as possible but close to city centre and thomond. I'm going to AB's matches in Scotland and Wales as well so its going to be an expensive month!!

ok...well if yout not too pushed about the quality the the glenthworth hotel...it wouldnt be as fancy as the rest but still a good hotel...its close to the train station...2 min walk from city centre but about a 20 min walk to thomond park...

If you're looking for cheap, check the Travelodge out by Coonagh. It's about a 15 minute walk to Thomond Park but it further away from the city centre.

Absolute Hotel is good. All of them are pricey for that night, as demand is sky high.

Okay the hotels in Limerick are:

Greenhills - out a bit from city centre , walkable to Thomond Park
Travelodge, Coonagh, further out than Greenhills.
Clarion Suites - 15 min walk from City Centre, close to TP
Two Mile Inn and the Radisson - both way out (car or taxis needed)
Strand Hotel seems to be fully booked
Absolute Hotel, a few mins walk from City and about 10 mins to TP
George, Pery, Clarion, Merriott, Jury's Inn are all city based
If you're stuck and not too pushed try the Railway Hotel.
Castletroy Park and Kilmurry Lodge are on the Dublin Roads side of town - car or taxis needed.
Southcourt Hotel on the Cork Rd, again way out.
Maldron (formerly the Quality) Hotel, near Southill, nice hotel but a car or taxi needed.

Think I've covered most of them.

I've stayed there and didn't think it was too bad. Its not in the best area, but it was clean and I had no complaints.

Patrick Punches is a nice spot. I know its in Examinership but I stayed there last week and it was nice. Its a bit away from the city centre and Thomand but it'd be as good an option as the two mile in and the radisson.

The Hilton is now the Strand and it's the ABs Team hotel and I think I read somewhere that it's fully booked.

Oh right. Got mixed up with my hotels. Was thinking of the one the other side of sarsfields bridge. When did they change the name? I'm only out of limerick a few months and didnt notice it at the weekend when I was there.

Go way sparky's u clown hahaha.

Anyway ye should try the best western pery's hotel... You'll get a cheap enough with good quality. It's in the city center and u shouldn't have any trouble getting a room. It's a big enough hotel and has just been done up. handy for a good few pints and friendly. unlike the george and the strand where it will be packed of rich people staring at you... it's a good atmosphere and live music 4 times a week. I go there the odd time on a regular night out before night club. Its comfortable & warm & lively and the pints are good.

TheLoc you are only a big bag of gayness, that likes cock meat sandwiches :D;)

Best Western Pery's is good for few pints and I've never heard any complaints about the place.

Are you sure? Pery's square is where the pery's hotel is right? I don't think there is room for another hotel there. Unless your thinking of the casino opposite the pery's.

    That's Baker Place.

Pery Square is closer to the park where the art gallery is.
The new hotel is open afaik, and it's located just next to St. Michaels COI Church.
