Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I almost feel sorry for the trolls hereabouts. Cheated out of a baiting session by the ref :D

Wasn't a peno, but don't think it was a dive either.
Just 2 players going for the ball and colliding. No malicious intent on the defenders part but no play-acting from Gerrard either - there was no way he could've stayed up there.

Check the stats mate pool have been alot better... thank god for that peno

Liverpool have been awful, and no statistic will make me think otherwise. Passing was terrible.

That has got to be the worst decision and dive in footballing history. Gerard should feel totally and utterly embarrassed by that

why? Gerrard doesn't dive, they don't do that type of thing at liverpool, if he even saw one of his team-mates trying to con the ref he'd have a word with them. 'Stevie G' is a model pro and would never, ever try to cheat.

liverpool were lucky in the end but they played better in fairness

    Could not agree more,

A combination of cheating and a brutal referee,

Blatant dive, Gerrard had a poor game, wasted chances with his continued attempt to do it all himself with long shots.

Couldn't have stayed up, no, but he didn't have to fling himself the way he did, throwing his arms up and appealing to the ref.

We were pants where it really mattered, why the hell Rafa thinks Keane can lead the line is beyond me.

As for no play-acting from Gerrard - look at his arms flailing and his actions when he landed on the ground, ffs. I shouldn't be surprised that there's no objectivity in the soccer forum

well Steven Gerrard has been shown to be a cast-iron cheat. Nothing else needs be said and the replay proves it. What a sap. I hope he feels proud and a sportsman.

Do you know how handball works? Just because a ball makes contact with your hand doesnt make it handball. The Mascherano one was fired at him as he's diving, He had no part in it hitting his hand. Carraghers one deflected up off his leg as he blocked a cross, neither was a peno.

57 bad passes compaired with atleticos 49, we didnt play the best but in the end they were trying harder then atletico

    Everyones complaints Against Gerrard

christ, lets just skip all the bitching and whining thats about to come, and all just come to the natural conclusion which is that they're all fuking at it, its pathetic and we wish it wasn't there but we all have someone on our team that does it.

Having said that, he didn't dive, he jumped into the man and rolled around as though shot. Its not better then a dive really, but its different. IMO the ref just gave it because he missed the earlier one, and not because he actually thought it was a pen.

at least you realise Gerrard is not a diver unlike Ronaldo, Rooney and Nani who are blatant divers...

It's not just Gerrard, it's not just Ronaldo, it's not just Deco, it's not just Keane etc. . . Diving and gamesmanship is rampant in soccer. There's no penalty for players cheating, they've no-one to fear and video analysis is missing.

Dissent, diving, acting the muppet, and an collective umbrella of organisations that are more interested in self-service than actually promoting the spirit of the sport. There is no player out there who is not taking part in gamesmanship, cheating or playing fully within the spirit of the game.

How in christs name was either hand to ball? One deflected up of a foot INTO the hand (ball to hand), the other was a driven cross into a sliding player that can go nowhere to get out of the way (again, ball to hand)

    Are you taking the piss?

    watch the flipping real plays

it is clearly without any shadow of any sort of doubt hand to ball

    off the stage

    That was disgraceful.
Atletico were robbed , and after watching there replays I think they had 2 clear peno's turned down.

Yes LIVERPOOL deserved something from the game , but to get it like that just smells,. .

seriously if anyone of those four 'penalties' were given or not given it wouldnt have surprised me either way...

Firstly, there was 2, with replays. Which one are you saying was hand to ball? (I'm assumign you've dropped it from 2 to 1 now seeing as you are taking singular?

or people just disagree... Gerrard had no need to fling himself the way he did, throw his arms back OR appeal for the penalty. He cheated to get it.

Ref should have sent off Babel for bringing the game into disrepute. I have never seen a player come on and do so much for the opposition, truely dreadful player. He will and should not be a Liverpool player next summer.
