Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anyone bought a bike out of Galvin Cycles in the old Dunnes shopping centre on the Mountmellick road? Any comments on how good they were?

I can only give my opinion on them when they were in Portarlington (they didn't stay around for long - lack of business I think).

The missus left her bike in on a Saturday morning (a few things wrong with it) and they had it sorted in a couple of hours.

    No complaints from her.

I purchased a child's bicycle from them in Port last christmas.I found them very helpful and I for one regret that they decided to move.

I got a repair done by them earlier in the year when they were in Portarlington. I wasn't impressed - they fitted the wrong part (even though the broken original was still on it when they received it) and as a result the bike was virtually useless apart from 3 gears (out of 27).
In the end I tackled it myself - couldn't wait any longer for a return phone call (they had long closed down in the town by this stage - nearly 3 months later).

I literally just bought a bike there today, A giant. Very friendly staff and the guy who sold me the bike gave me €50 off and a free lock!

I did use them for some repairs on my old hybrid, They charged so little in relation to their level of service.

    will definitely use them again.

Went out today to go to the shop and saw that it was closed. I wouldn't go past that way very often so it could have been like that for months. Does anyone know have they gone completely or have they just moved?

Yeah, been like that for 2 months or so, no sign up or anything, very strange just leaving like that.
