Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    *prepares speech*

Christ, the emotional long winded bull I posted after Scotland were robbed of qualification by Italy :pac: Id been drinking since about 2 as we were playing Wales in a game of importance to seedings only.

Anyone for the Eamon Dunphy Flip Flopping On Their Past Statements award?

I know of one clear winner :p

Haha, it makes funny reading already.

How about a Glenn Hoddle award for a poster getting nobbled by karma?

(nothing to do with the Joe Kinnear award nominee of the Liverpool predictions thread!)

like Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Sahy Given of late? i cant say i have ever noticed Jenas though! And you cant beat Wenger for a good misdirected whinge!!!
theyre all club captains, so theyre perfectly entitled to do it

Good idea. Might start posting a bit more now in a last ditch attempt to bag the John Delaney gong.

The 'Kevin "I'd love it" Keegan' award for poster who totally loses it mid-post and descends into a rambling incoherent rant.;)

I haven't read all the pages so appologies if anyone got here before me but I'd also propose the Eamonn Dunphy award for the person who is universally hated but we'd miss them all the same if they weren't here.

Well you can have the "Robbie Savage Award" to start with! :pac: award for what?! ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,608 ✭✭✭Spud83

How about the John O'Shea award - basically it will go to the poster who when you see them online you go a f*ck sake and log off, basically the same reaction caused by John O'Shea starting a game, or warming up.

Also how about the Micheal Owen award for the poster who shows up for one week every 3 months makes a sterling contribution before disappearing for another 3 months.

What about the Joe Kinnear Rant Award,to be given out to the best rant of the year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Plenty of options anyway. We can whittle it down to the best ten or so.

Do we have mod approval to get it going? If so then lock this bad boy and open a new thread where people can put forward their award categories. The ones with the most thanks win etc etc..

I think I know who Mr Alan’s nemesis is.
I also think that Boggles has turned over a new leaf and seems to be posting reasonable accurate musings. Maybe there is a ‘Joey Barton Award for reformed characters’ with Boggles name on it???

I think it is OK so long as there are no "negative awards" or awards that people may be offended to receive.

If people are offended by being nominated for a light hearted bit of fun...then they are probably the one with the problem IMO.

If people are offended by an award, we should put them into a category to win a Brandross award

Your decision may not be up for discussion, your comment, or the reasoning behind it i would reckon is fair game :)

    The Duncan Ferguson Award

I nominate that loon bag that was pm'ing his mobile number a few weeks back asking to meet up for fights. :D

heh, fair point, maybe we should have an "exercise in futility" award for posters who like to discuss pointless things.

Like Man City fans talking about the CL.

Oh yeah, I went there :p

Seriously though, it is a good idea, but regardless of whether people should have fun or not, we all know people can get very easily offended here. I'm not suffering a 200 page feedback thread for this.

So the ground rules are, anything "fun" or negative, you guys clear it with the nominees before you post them on a list.

If they are ok with being on it, no harm done.
