Well the clocks have been reset for winter time and evenings have got darker. The TV is at it's usual "autumn is an in-between season" standards. So I'm putting new blades in my scalpel, getting part built projects out of the attic for finishing, and generally planning the next models to build, invent, repair, or have construction type fun with.

Most of you know I have a soft spot for model jets. So here is a couple of video clips about the real thing, but not from the conventional point of view.

    The power of jet engines

A Korean Airlines 747 in an extreme crosswind landing at the infamous Kai Tak airport of Hong Kong.

Go to youtube, type in "top gear 747 jet engines". WOW!:D

Would you actually buy a model jet engine for your up and coming model?

That Top Gear is fantastic. How did I miss that programme?

I wouldn't do a kerosene turbine. They are heavy, thirsty, and very very expensive.

Only brushless electric impeller interests me. The top level of electric is indistinguishable from turbine, but one size smaller.

Here is an idea of where electric is at if you buy big batteries and 400-500 euro motors.
