    I went to the fitz last night for only the second time in 6 months (also my second time in a week) and the place is a disgrace.......

    In both my visits I've had to put up with the following

    1. When I got called to play I asked the girl (a p1ss poor Luke replacement) at the desk for chips. She said no problem I'll get them in a second and continued working on her clip board for near 10 minutes before exchanging my cash for chips
    2. Two of the three dealers I had constantly were getting the pots wrong. When the players were trying to explain where they made mistakes the dealers were snapping at them.
    3. The dealers were paying no attention to what was going on, continually slowing the game up. They also kept misdealing which led to more rake been taking out of the few pots we did play.
    4. At show down the dealers kept showing the mucked hand(s) of the losing player(s) whether it was requested or not, instead of just awarding the pot.
    5. Our names weren't even put on the board to move tables. Instead random people were asked to move.

    6. Not really a fitz thing, but a player thing. The players ethicate was terrible. They kept slow rolling, asking to see losing hands, getting involved in hands verbally that they weren't actually involved in. The dealers (a fitz thing) were to weak to do anything and let players away with everything.

    Hopefully another casino will be able to compete with the player base that the fitz has ASAP, cos I know I will not be playing live cash again in the fitz.

    I would highly recommend that players stop going there!!!!

    Awwww, poor baby. I'm sure all the staff and customers will miss your custom.

    In my opinion it is the best cardroom in Dublin for a combination of reasons. Each to their own etc.

    Wow - you must have got a bad run.

    I've been there about 2 nights a week for the last 3 months playing both tournaments and cash games and have not seen any of what you described above. It's unfortunate that it happened to you but I have to stick up for the Fitz here and say that Denise is very good at what she does and the poker dealers are usually very efficient (esp. Keith/Stewart/Lucy/Dana etc).

    I've never seen the random people-moving thing you talked about. EVERY time I've been there they've gone by the list religiously.

    When you asked for chips, was there a reason why you didn't just walk 2 feet and get them at the window like everyone else does ? (Serious question)

    Anyway, pity you had a bad experience but I disagree with what you say and the overwhelming majority of the time I go there I find the service great, the tables full, the dealers efficient, plenty of waitresses, good food etc.etc and generally everything pretty much the way I want it.

    good work to the Fitz ;)

    If u want really bad dealers and fools talkinga bout pots in the middle of hands i sugguest you hit the jackpot.
    Denise is very good at her job and they can get very busy in there.
    Some of the dealers can be poor enough and the ettiquette has gone out the window in a lot of instances.
    However due to some of the choppers posts before i have come to the incusion hes not full shilling to say the least.
    And as Dom said i think its the best card room in dublin for game selection food and staff too.

    Too small a sample imo.

    Bit harsh. Chopper posted his thoughts on it. No need to pounce on him. There is definitely room for improvement in the fitz. He had a bad experience and by the sounds of it a post here about it is warranted. I know ye guys are Fitz regs, but theres no need to give a guy stick when he justs posts what seems like pretty poor service.

    As for the points, the Fitz is still by far the best card club I've been to in pretty much every way. Mistakes are made there, some dealers are bad, there is sometimes really bad etiquette, the list is often very poorly managed on busy nights etc. These do happen and should be improved on. No point denying it.

    On the other hand the Fitz is still ahead of all the other card clubs I've been to in all of these matters (I've never been to the SE for obvious reasons.)

    Ul chopper, looks like you just ran bad in terms of your experience for the night.

    I had not seen them not go by the list either in my past experiences until I went in last week.

    I didn't know you could get chips at the window. But Denise could have told me to ask at the window instead of keeping me waiting at the 'cash' desk.

    Hey Ace - nice to see you pay attention to posts months ago and nothing in the present. I hope this kind of observational skills makes you a fortune at the poker table.

    The dealers in the Jackpot are in general very good.

    Not a huge fan of the fitz but certainly have no probs with the dealers.
    Best around compared to everywhere else

    He's right, you teased us a few months ago by saying you would stop posting. Unfortunately it was not to be. At the time most of your post made you come across as the nut moron. Then you seemed to have grown up and now you are back to being the nut moron again.

    I've played in most cardrooms in the country and the fitz is one of my least favorite while my mate Pat loves it, its subjective and each to there own. Chopper voiced his opinion no need to crucify him although a post in the bbv would probably of been suffice

    You have not seen people banned for less. If you have (in here) I would be flabbergasted.

    If I called you diddums would that have been less offensive even though it is the same thing?

    You went into a card room where you admit you haven't really had problems before with any of these issues, yet you see fit to start a thread about a bad experience this time? What did you expect to happen in this thread?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,709 ✭✭✭YULETIRED

    Indernet serious business...

    ricky = nice chap really

    fitz = nice club

    internet = serious busines

    Two times in one week I've been in there my boy. Are you an affiliate of the fitz dear boy? Do they pay you to say these things boy?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,705 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

    if it was 2 times in one week then why start the OP with, i quote

    "I went to the fitz last night for only the second time in 6 months"

    Ricky - you started the thread giving your views, and some people came on defending the fitz - none of which are associated with the place so why are you getting so worked up,

    I don't appreciate personal attacks for giving an opinion. If people want to defend the fitz fine, but don't defend it by attacking my character......

    Yes it was my second time in 6 months but my second time in a week. Don't get pedantic

    I remember going there shortly after Luke left and they were really making an effort to keep the place going as good as always. Seems to be they know they have the traffic and just don't care anymore. I've seen the SE flammed on boards for a lot less

    Good location, easy parking, good food menu, free sandwiches, guaranteed cash games running, most reliable Omaha game in Dublin, good dealers, friendly staff, good tournaments with good structures, they listen to customers and change when enough people request where practical, over 18's, no silly dress code, good tables and chips, busiest club in the country, and monthly free draws for all members worth thousands.

    Good enough for you?

    If you think someone going 'poor baby' is a personal attack considering some of the things that have been directed your way over the last couple of years then your skin must have thinned considerably.

    Dom is so old that you are a baby to him - so its a factual statment...

    I agree with a lot of what you've put here. My grips with the fitz have not really been addressed by you on your list, apart from the two I've put lines through

    Just cos I have a problem with the place there's no need to go off your head at me cos you love the fitz
