Great result for Philips (3rd place) after all....

The unofficial day-end chip counts are:

    Ivan Demidov - 79,500,000
    Peter Eastgate - 57,725,000

Had 80€ before the FT started on Ivan at 4-1....it really looks good! Go on Ivan! :)

so are they stopping for the headsup game? when does that start irish time?

fcking barracuda won't let me look at pokernews. anyone know any other site, or any mirror I can use to see it?

watched the last three episodes of ESPN's main event coverage and have to say the writing was pretty much on the wall with these two likely winners. Phillips just didn't seem good enough, Suaharto was good but prob too tight, the other Canadian too loose.

I do think that Eastgate might lack a bit of live experience. I don't know if thats the case, but he's certainly being marketed as an on-line player. There was one hand towards the end of the main event where he tried to bluff Demidov with middle pair, Demidov holding AQ for TPTK, and I thought Eastgate looked really weak and was really showing the fact he was bluffing.

I felt marquis had a good chance too. I thought Chino would be too aggressive but seems to have probably tightened up to exploit his image and got unlucky in the end

Incidentally, Marquis wasn't that unlucky at all, he was a flip before the flop whatever about afterwards. I do think its a stupid move with Kim on 3BBs. I think that situation is an exception and the only way to play it, if you play it at all, is a small raise which ought to signify more strength, with a fold when you know you're flipping for 400k.

And I think people are being harsh on Kim. He may just have been card dead. I don't think he was playing to scrape up a place necessarily (though he played the last few days of the main event this way) but was prob forced to because of his holdings. He pushed the first hand after all. If he didn't get good hands I think the correct approach is to fold up to 400k.

    That is all

The lack of no feeds has really ruined this I feel. Every other year we had huge threads with people staying up all night to watch it live, this just seems like such a let down having to weight a few days for it.

Yes but it doesn't show the players. Its just a picture showing some stupid graphic with audio commentary.

I think its actually being aired tonight in the states as they said in commentary the reason the breaks in play were so long was due to the fact ESPN were changing the camera tapes as they edited on the fly to have it ready to air later on.

for those who hate the 77 shoves, surely he should have way more FE in that spot that normal too, due to Kim's position?

Yep, Eastgate is chip lead (not for long though).

Pokernews got them wrong and I got confused: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/november-nine/final-table/

a few hands, his AQ "outran" chinos AK, then he busts montgomery i think with 66 vs Ax when he hits a one outer on the river, his 55 makes 5s full on the river, albeit against a bluff shove from swartz and finally flops another set to bus phillips

    WOW!! Give him some credit.

AQ vs AK - Rheems was really short stacked at this time and pushed for his last 3.6m in the cut off and Eastgate with a stack of 24m at the time makes a completely standard call in the SB with AQ .

66 vs Ax - All the money went in pre in this hand so the fact the 6 was a one outer on the river has no relevance to how he was running.

55 - He was ahead the whole way in this hand.

Set against Philips - He raised Pre, flopped a set on a 35J board , bet out and Philips decided to spaz out and bluff shove over his bet with 9,10. Again i think he played his hand well.

From what i could make out he was pushing the action for most of the final table and was one of the most active players. They gave some stat out that three quaters the way into the final table that he had won a quater of all hands played at that stage.

I think he fully deserved to be in the final two.

Just as things are starting to heat up and it seems that Peter Eastgate may have Ivan Demidov on the ropes, we come to our next twenty-minute break. The chip counts at the break are:

    Ivan Demidov - 16,350,000
    Peter Eastgate - 120,550,000

    almost done

Peter Eastgate has the button. He limps in and Ivan Demidov checks the big blind.

The flop comes down . Action is checked to Eastgate, who bets 1.25 million. Demidov calls, then checks again when the hits the turn. Eastgate doesn't slow down, firing out a bet of 2 million more. Demidov counts to twenty, then check-raises to 6 million. With that bet, he has committed half of his stack to the pot. It could be the point of no return if Eastgate comes along.

Eastgate thinks things over for about thirty seconds and then calls. When he does, everyone in the gallery rises expectantly to their feet.

The river is the . Demidov announces all in and Eastgate snap-calls. Could this be it? Demidov shows first, tabling for two pair, fours and deuces. Eastgate is next to show, turning over -- he's made a wheel!

It's all over! Ivan Demidov has been eliminated in second place, earning $5,809,595 for his remarkable run through this tournament.

LadCrooks can hardly complain if someone sees a better business opportunity and says f uck off to their old partner.

It's how Ladbrokes have been operating since their inception.

Ladbrokespoker.com WSOP effort deemed a success!

Edward Ihre MD of Ladbrokes would like to be one of the first to congratulate Peter Eastgate on his amazing and historical win at this years WSOP. And when all things are considered perhaps Ed is perhaps one of the first people that should do so! It was after all with Ladbrokespoker.com that Peter came to Vegas, to play in the main event as part of Team Ladbrokes. And it was this ticket that sealed Peter's fate and propelled him into the history books as the youngest player ever to win the main event and a WSOP bracelet. Indeed his first step on what turned out to be a very long road to WSOP victory was in fact aided by Ladbrokes Poker.
Edward commented: "We brought Peter and 119 other players (Team Ladbrokes) out to Las Vegas to play in the WSOP main event this year and by that fact alone we were instrumental in him making it to the final table. Peter was very much a front-runner from the early stages of the main event within Team Ladbrokes and by the latter stages of the tournament a very likely contender to make it to the final table. In fact there were two other Ladbrokes Poker players that we'd hoped would make it through, one of which was our sponsored player Jeff Kimber who unfortunately finished in 120th place winning $41,815."
    WSOP Objectives

"One of the primary objectives for Ladbrokes Poker this year was to provide a poker experience for our qualifiers unrivalled by any other operator and to produce a WSOP final tablist. The many positive comments that followed the trip proved that the former was achieved and now news of Peter Eastgates win is the icing on the cake."
Edward Ihre finished by saying: "Peter is definitely the most famous man in Denmark today and by the end of this week thanks to ESPN coverage most probably going to be one of the most famous Danes in the world and I am glad to say that Ladbrokes Poker made it possible; he came out to Vegas with us and won the biggest tournament in the world. We wish him all the best!”
Ladbrokes Poker renowned for providing some of the best packages to the WSOP and usually start running qualifiers in January.
