    Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone else is having problems with cracking issues in there walls/ceilings in ongar. These cracks run along the plasterboard within the house

How big are they ? It's pretty standard for most new builds to have some form of cracking as the house drys out and settles, not a whole lot that can be done about it really. Some builders I know who have bought their own new build or built their own leave decorating and painting for a long time to allow this to happen so when they do decorate/paint they don't have to worry about cracks forming in their newly painted walls !

they cold run for 2-6ft mainly alonf were the plasterboard sheets meet and they are thin cracks along the ceiling as do there is alot of movement in the joists. you also get a few cracks in the walls were the plasterboard meets and again these are hairline crack but can run for a couple of feet

This is true. There's always a certain amount of settling in every house. Hairline cracks sound like this. If you're really worried about it see if you can get a builder to take a look.

    Hi robbie00

If the problem gets worse and the builders are of no help you can also contact the Ongar Community Council http://www.ongar-residents.com/

I known of an on going sound proofing problem with some of the duplex
