C GTK complete and utter newbie...

i'm looking into getting into the gtk using C but apart from 1 year in college i have no C industry experience.

trying to install the gtk has become a pain as i'm unsure how to do it and there doesn't seem to be any comprehensive guides that go through all the necessary steps to go from say a fresh windows install to a windows install with C gtk and necessary tools needed (compiler, libraries etc.).

anyone know of any such guides and whether there's an IDE (similar to eclipse is for java) for C gtk development?

I worked away in DevCPP before with GTK though DevC++ not updated much anymore. Still does the job though. Runs MinGW so you get GCC compiler.

that tutorial doesn't seem to have the zip file with the Devex or the templates folder?
