Hey all:) i'll be having a friend visit me soon and wont be here for long, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me of somewhere that sells stuff like vegan friendly ice-cream (not sure on that one, possible soya milk version?) or pizza well generally a few places that sell nice food :D

Would really make her day and mine, i can eat all the regular veggie stuff but she cant :( This is Dublin city centre (D1/D2 area)

    Any help appreciated \o/ ty

the health food shop, Nourish on Wicklow street should have vegan ice cream.

I was in Lidl the other day and they have a few different flavour Sorbets (frozen fruits that taste like ice cream, vegan friendly) that cost under 3 quid and are nice. Tasted the strawberry and the banana ones and they were pretty good. Also Lidl does chocolate thats vegan friendly (doesnt say it on wrapping but ingredients have no milk) and its alot nicer than dark chocolate...

another snack a I really like is dried mango from tesco which is expensive but lovely. or the toasted seeds the sell in small packs usually stacked near the mango.

    good luck!

You can get HB soya ice cream in Tescos.

As for pizza you would be better off making your own - make your dough and tomato base and away you go!

The Health Store: http://www.thehealthstore.ie/page.php?intPageID=4 have a good frozen selection, but none are in the centre of town.

Nourish on Wicklow Street (next to cornucopia) also have a small frozen selection, with plenty of the Fry's range (all vegan frozen 'meats'), which would be handy if you plan on doing some cooking at home. There are other Nourishs but this one is the only one with frozen food (the rest all have some fridge food, I think). Their stock depends on the day really, and you'll have to read ingredients well because an awful lot of quorn and such have egg. http://www.nourish.ie/?ncat=22 Nourish will also have vegan sweets which are pricey, but a treat :)

Health Matters on the bottom of Grafton St doesn't have any fridge food, but do have the Dove's Farm vegan flap jacks and other muchies. :)

As mentioned, check out the frozen ice-creams in Tesco because they have a 'chocolate' and 'strawberry and vanilla' tubs of soya ice-cream.

For vegetarian places to eat (with vegan dishes and desserts) try
The main totally vegetarian spots are cornucopia, cafe fresh, blazing salads (I'm not sure if you can eat in there) or govindas. There are probably a few other places which have veggie options, but the above guarentee veggie food only. They would be perfect for lunch out.

Cornicopia is usually busy and i've never seen it quiet - very homely. Govinda's is quieter and there are 3 of them about town. Cafe Fresh has a modern and spacious cafe with plenty of calm and I've never been to Blazing Salads, so can't say about that.

I was out looking for the ice-cream made with rice milk but couldn't find it in the Superquinn in Blackrock. What what the brand of this ice cream?
