People replying why Obama won. It is scary to know that people would post such things publicly.
Not surprising at all, considering these posters are the typical audience of Fox News and the Bill O'Spin Factor. McCain's concession speech was more diplomatic than the posts of these immature poor losers (and probably the best delivery of his campaign).

I don't know about you people, but I am scared to death. I thought these type of people could only be found in low budged zombie movies... but they actually exist. I mean, invest in an education not a arsenal of weapons ;)

The following two posts really caught my attention:

    November 5th, 2008 at 12:18 am

People have just sent our once great nation to hell in a hand basket…. soon the Muslim community will be able to rise up and call a halt to our freedoms… we’ve just elected for our leader, a person who thinks that white people need to be eradicated.

I completely missed where Obama wanted to exterminate the white race... Is he a secret member of the black panther party?

What a terrible day for America. Obama is going to turn this country into Legoland. Socialism is going to eat our children. Our economy is in a downturn just because he is running for President, not because of the last 8 years. HAIL JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY!!!! OBAMA IS FILTH. FILTH OF THE BLACKEST KIND. I am going to go jump off a bridge and end my miserable life. Rapists and homosexuals are about to walk the streets, and I do not wish to stick around when that happens.

This guy was living in a hole most of his life, right? His post is a joke and a piss take, right? It would be great to see this man/woman producing homosexual offspring.

The steriotype of stupidity in America has definately been portrayed in that post.

I hope I am not out of line with anything I have said.

Well in fairness it's a little known fact but it is true that socialists agree now that eating babies is the only way to achieve equality for all.

Don't you know? If your name sounds even vaguely like "Osama", then you're a Muslim terrorist.

Completely agree. Though watching Bill O'Reilly explode has high entertainment value, that doesn't take away from the fact that he is influencing a wide audience with his rants and by manipulating the issues.

    Here's a great one, I cracked up laughing :)
Obama is a muslim and he is the anti-christ! He will turn America into a Muslim country and we’re all gonna hafe to wear turbens and ride camels. This is not Amercia. I saw the devils face when Obama won on my Tv screen. this is armageden Jesus is gonna come down and smack that Obama in the face. This is the day god turned his back on America. And we are to blame!
I’ve got my guns and I’m not affraid to use them on any muslims trying to force me to wear a bomb.

The comments on the Fox forum is nothing less then I would expect from that extreme right-wing bigoted bunch.
That said, the rest of the world can (and as is the case here for example) easily spot these red-neck, living in the past morons and in every day life, probably have nothing to do with them - and rightly so.
They have their right of speech protected officially(!) so they can say what they want. That doesn't stop the rest of the world however from using the more brains that they have and seeing them for what they are.

What they are I'll leave to your own good judgement!

There is two old sayings that spring to mind:
"Empty vessels make the most noise" & "Fools of a kind seldom differ"

Thank heavens the rest of us have more brains, decency, compassion and understanding then the bigoted idiots on forums such as the Fox one.

TBH I believe that most of the people making those kind of comments on the Fox website are actually school kids having a laugh.
Sure there are some nut-jobs out there but come on....a lot of them are piss takes.

I think similar comments would have been made if McCain was elected president.

I think some of the people who commented on this thread are no better than the people who made those comments on the Fox forum.

You people are saying on one hand that it's unacceptable for people to speak of their distaste that Obama got elected. And in the next breath call them rednecks (amongst other things). Talk about hypocritical.

I can easily generalise and say that the people who voted Obama are gangsta criminals...

Not too mention I have listen the arguing of my unsaved husband yelling at me that I'm "dense and stupid" and don't understand why Obama won and that the states that voted for McCain were redneck and racist...oh dear Jesus , I'm going to take a bath, cry my eyes out, talk to Jesus and go to bed...

I hope her "unsaved husband" does the right thing and divorces her.

there is a difference between disliking someone and not wishing them to be elected - indeed, there were good reasons to vote for McCain, and simply hating them because of lies and the colour of his skin. Proclaiming the end of the world, proclaiming that christian Obama is actually a muslim terrorist that wants to erradicate the white man, proclaiming that he is the anti-christ and will bring for the destruction of the world as foretold in revelations is COMPLETELY different.

I bet if McCain had won there would have been people complaining on here, but probably because they disagree with his policy in Iraq, or his tax policies, or medical policies. Probably not because they think he will bring hell to earth, kill every black person on the planet or because he is actually a neo-nazi.

No, they would not be complaining about Iraq or tax or anything else

They would be spitting vitriol about how stupid 'Yanks' are, and how racist America is, and how it is full of rednecks and white trash

have a look at 4 years ago, some very angry posters

I wonder did he see the credit crunch?

Also for those who are laughing at the blind stupidity of some of these posters (on Fox etc.) remember that a very short time ago people here voted against the Lisbon referendum because: "there would be conscription, abortion, insert prejudice/fear/assumption here".

I remember hearing of Obama back in 2004 and I think it was that post that was where I heard first.

So if someone TV reporter asks me when did I first here of Barak Obamana, I'll say 'in 2004 on Boards.ie'

I always find it strange that so many 'Christians' can so easily reconcile their christianity with their prejudices.

    It's almost oxymoronic

    Comparing Obama to Hitler :D
sounds like germany when hitler won and the crowds look like the germans falling for his rhetoric.

And some of the greatest quotes you're likely to see!
This sucks ass. The world will probably end now. I hope obama isn’t a terrist.
The gates of hell have been open. God help us all. I am no longer an American but a Texan first. How could this country vote for someone that is so UNAMERICAN. I will wear a black band on my arm with the American flag on it because I am in morning for our country.

And the greatest quote ever!!!!! :D
get ready to turn your guns in we just lost our freedom

Fox news is a home for ultra right wing thought so these comments on that website are no surprise. The majority of Fox's audience are WASP evangelical conservatives. For them a black liberal president IS like the end of the world.

It's weird to me that a public corporate forum doesn't moderate some of that stuff out. I mean, I know it's the internet, and people are entitled to spout off even if they're sawdust brained halfwits, but it's surprising to me that a news outlet would be happy to be associated with their posts, particularly the bluntly racist ones.

Very true...you get site banned here for life for calling someone a c*nt when they deserve it but on Fox you can say what you like :D
