Edit: Found safe and sound. All good.

Our little pug cross pup has gone missing from our house in Marino, Dublin 3. She’s tagged but we’d taken her harness off. Very friendly and mad as a brush.

    Kids distraught. :(

I'd imagine she's from the halting site on the road around the corner from there. There are often dogs straying in that area unfortunately.

I left reward posters in various places in a radius around my area.
I got a call to say Bobo's remains have been found. Seemingly hit by a train.
He was rescued while full of cat flu with his eyes crusted over unable to see.
    He was a joy.
R.I.P. pal. We'll miss ya buddy.

( One of the rail workers so kindly walked the track without request to pick him up- I'm at work. There are plenty of decent people in the world.)

What a kind person that worker is. Not an easy thing to do :(

So sorry for your loss. Sleep tight Bobo.

I met kind John after work and shook his hand.
He has two cats himself and he said "Well, if it was the other way 'round ...[ if it was his cat ]".
I gave him the reward with a thank-you note. He wasn't expecting it.
Bobo is now in the back garden.

Friend,s dog (Beagle/jack x)bolted in Carrigaline, Cork on 17th May.

He is still wearing a red harness with lead attached.

He is a rescue taken from a horrendous situation and very nervous - if approached he WILL run.

He is believed to be in the Ballinrea Rd area. We are trying to trap him and appealing for sightings.

There is another beagle wandering around the Church Rd area not wearing a harness - that is not him.

    Hi all,

The GF's tabby cat hasn't come home, it's not like her to be out. She has been out since at least yesterday morning. She's about 7-8 years old, small and quite shy. A few months ago she was trapped in someone's yard nearby as there was a dog she couldn't get by. Hopefully she's still nearby.

Would appreciate anyone with information to PM me.

Seen around Ardee St/Cork St area.

Lost on Howth Summit this morning. A medium-sized black and white terrier/collie cross. She may be trying to make her way home in Killester as she has done this quite a few times. Never from so far away though.

She’ll be very nervous, bless her. No tag but is chipped.

Here’s a pic but she’s been groomed recently so less hairy.

Please help us find Molly. Molly went missing and likely taken on the evening of 17th July from Cappawhite, Co Tipperary. She is a 9 year old Springer, microchipped and neutered.

Molly is a very quiet dog and was a rescue dog re-homed with us. She will be very distressed to be away from her home and is nervous of strangers. She is small for a springer. If anyone sees her on Donedeal, anywhere around the country or has any info at all that may be helpful, please reply to me or send me a private message. I'd really appreciate it, thanks

For what it's worth, my heart goes out to you and I hope and pray that she will be returned to you. I know well how it feels to have a beloved pet go missing and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It enrages me that she could have been taken, I know it seems to be happening at the moment to many people but the ensuing heartache and pain that people like you must endure so that some soulless scoundrel can enrich themselves without a care in the world just makes me despair. To borrow a phrase, I truly hope that there is a special place in hell for them all. Keeping good thoughts for you both.

We know for sure now Molly was stolen and is most likely somewhere in the UK. I will register her microchip number in the UK and flag her as stolen. It seems if dog is scanned its common for people to say they bought the dog abroad and forgot to change registration on the microchip and they get away with it like that, no questions asked.

Anyone else who may have been in this situation have any more advice on things we can do besides this and spreading it online?

    Thanks

Our cat Pixel has been missing since the weekend (8th/9th August 2020)from the Glasnevin Avenue area. She is pure black with some white hairs in her ears. She is dainty in size and slim. She also has a scar/cut at the tip of her right ear. She is micro-chipped and very nervous of strangers.

I have posted on a number of local residents groups on Facebook but no joy yet. It is very unlike her to be gone for this long as she's normally a real 'home-bird'.

Missing Found Cat - Tullamore area

Our cat Bandit has been missing since Friday. He occasionally goes out for a full day, but it's been 5 days now. Short stubby tail, black and white cat.

    Update
And he's back. Found him this morning about 200m from home, chilling out in a neighbours yard. Delighted and unbelievably relieved he's home now.

    Hi,

    (Kilcloon area (Co.Meath))

My family's beloved dog is gone missing. We suspect she was stolen, because she was tied up and there's no likely way she got off the lead somehow.

She's ~9 years old, half king charles, half bichon frise, looks mostly like a bichon.

    Photo attached:

    She responds to Roxy.

    Please keep an eye out

Any suggestions or advice on how to get her back welcome.

    🙏 MISSING - PLEASE HELP! 🙏

Our much loved indoor boy cat BOBTY is missing from Carrigmore area, CITYWEST

Male, Neutered, 6 years old. ........LONG but SLIM Cat

He is a long but slim cat, mostly indoor,

TUXEDO with a half white face on his RIGHT side (please see attached picture)

He has a microchip but the details are out of date.

If anyone has seen him can you let us know please.

    Geraldine

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭DBB

Please, please contact the microchip database and

    1) ask them to update your details, and

    2) ask them to flag your pet as missing on their system.

It'll just take a phone call and/or email to explain your situation, and could make the difference in getting Bobty home 😔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 GeralyMerrily

Thank you so much DBB, I got Bobty microchipped 5 years ago, but the phone number is obsolete from May this year :( he's a house cat so I never thought of it, was very recent I changed my number, kicking myself now (of course)

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭DBB

It's not at all too late. The problem is that if Bobty is found, and scanned, and the phone number associated with the chip is unsuccessfully called, well... there's only so many attempts that'll be made.

If you call and email the database (I'm assuming it's either Fido or Animark?) first thing tomorrow, they'll be able to make necessary amendments straight away so that a finder gets the correct details back when they enter Bobty's chip number into the database.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 GeralyMerrily

living in dundrum, a cat has been hanging around the last 2 days. defo not a stray, way too friendly. but very underweight, and walks with a 'wobble'. possibly is carrying an injury

anyone have any advise on what to do here? the cat is asleep in the same room as above pic.

he is very underweight and really struggles with walking. he kind of wobbles along, and falls over.

Are you in a position to bring him to a vet for an assessment and/or a microchip scan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,579 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

yeah, will be doing that tomorrow. have to get a cat carrier thing which i ordered from argos earlier and then taxi down at some stage tomorrow. need to call them in the morning to organise a free slot.

    will keep ye posted

so a sad update on this. during the night, the little fella got worse. i called a 24hr emergency vet who sadly had to put her (as it turns out) to sleep.

    RIP mr. cat

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭DBB

Aw no, that's so sad 😔

Did the vet know what was wrong with her?

You gave the poor ole thing a comfortable last few days, then helped her when she needed help the most. Well done, sorry it's a sad ending 😢

emaciated and another word i cant remember.

just 1 last follow up here. the vet is after calling me and confirmed bobbi was microchipped. he gave me the name, address and phone number of the owner for me to inform them. would that be standard practice?

    right, last update.

i spoke with bobbi's owner. bobbi moved into a neighbours house a few years back. the new owners went on holidays (for a few months!!) and organised the old owner to leave out food daily, which she did but bobbi never turned up for the food.

the estate is probably about 200m from where i am so very close.

not sure what the new owners were thinking, this cat was clearly very domesticated and friendly, and was more than likely an indoor cat suddenly locked out of her home.

a sad and avoidable death. at least i gave her some semblance of comfort in her last days.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,787 Mod ✭✭✭✭DBB

Ah jeez... that's so sad for poor Bobbi. Flippin hell, cats get such a raw deal sometimes.

You did her a great service 😔

    Hi all,

We have our cat gone missing for the last few weeks. But its in strange circumstances.

We put the cat in a kennels/cattery while away on hols but the cat escaped and no sign since. (Cattery is way out the country from our house in town).

Has anyone any experience of this, do we have any come back on the Kennels. Some people have said to take owners to small claims court or to sue.

    Any advice appreciated.

My little girl, Missie has been lost just over a week now. She lives in Tara Cove, Balbriggan, Co. Dublin. She has barely ever strayed past her own front garden. Knows her name, would likely be enticed by food, and is easily identifiable by her red collar with the small cyndrical red address tag. She is spayed and microchipped.

As much as I pray she is sheltered and fed by someone, she's on a special diet for essential bodily functioning, so we need her home ASAP. Thank you!

We've tried many a method for luring cats back in, as well as searched high and low while calling her name, and we put out posters etc. Thanks in advance to all who see this, and for this thread for existing! Desperate to get my baby back.

    EDIT: She's been found!!

Hi all, I hope this is allowed. I just spotted this notice on the FB page of the cattery where my two usually stay and I thought a bigger audience might help.

Apparently a few days ago the owner of this cat was in a car crash in the Carrick on Shannon area, the cat was in the car but the carrier got damaged and the cat escaped and ran away terrified. They don't even know if the cat was injured or not...

    Hi everyone.

Two weeks ago we found small cat in our back garden. He was like crying constantly so we gave him something to eat. Cat eat like hover pretty much cleaning bowl every time in seconds. We went around with pictures asking neighbors left and right if someone is missing him but no joy. Son took it to the vet to find out if he is chipped but no chip found. Vet suggested that he can be put in shelter but it may take months for him to find new home and that we can ask around if someone wants him.

Cat is very friendly and we would keep him but we already have one which does not take it well that there is another cat around. Our (6years old) one is now scared to do in the garden and is actually terrified of this small new one. Problem is that our cat is well trained and this new one figured out how our cat is going in and out of the house which cause us a problem. Old cat cant be locked in and new cat simply go around house and do stuff our cat never does like jumping on tables in kitchen...

He is a lovely cat but I don't have any idea how to find his owners and we cant keep him.

It was found in Ballysimon Road (Fairgreen) area of Limerick. There are few pictures in case someone may recognize him.

Hi, Our 18 month old Unneutered Male Black Cat has been missing since the 27/10/2023.

He lives in the Derry Cahill Dysart Area near ballinasloe.

    Goes by the name Snoozy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,190 ✭✭✭patnor1011

This little chap will have to go to shelter which is a shame as he is super friendly playful little creature. Sadly I cant keep him as our other cat of 6 years is having hard time with this young one around. He is older big cat but he is afraid to go in garden and very scared with this newcomer around.

Our cat was always like that scared of other people too. He is really having hard time and we cant have them both. I wish we find someone who can take care of him but we cant traumatize our cat any longer so as much as I hate it he will have to go to the shelter. I will give it another few days in case someone here may want to give him a chance.
