I intended to read the thread/posts until I saw it was world of warcraft, so I just can't bring myself to do it.

Also, an in thread warning is hardly a disaster. I assume it wasn't an infraction due to the mods can't infract mods weirdness, but even if it was no biggie tbh. In general though telling someone to get a clue in itself is not worthy of an infraction/warning, but in the right context with other replies etc taken into account it might make itself worthy of a warning of some kind in thread.

In general sounds like like a knickers in a twist in thread spat that needed to be calmed down a bit. I notice you said earlier mayordenis that in your forum you don't in thread warn, you only ban or infract. Personally I think in thread warnings can avoid the need for a lot of the latter if you catch a brewing argument. Sometimes you know it will pass, so leave them argue, but other times due to the subject matter, or the people arguing, you know it is going to get out of hand (in my experience anyhow) so a pre warning, or a 'calm down ffs' can help.

    My 2c.

Henceforth, the phrase "get a clue" is to be replaced by the nicer phrase "obtain a hint".

    That is all.

Hang on and hold up a bloody minute here people.
This gent has a case. Rock solid case.
You just said "get a clue"?
Has anyone ever ever in the history of boards been on thread warned for saying that ever before in the history of ever? If it wasnt directed at the mod of the forum directly it would never have been highlighted as a potential issue.

Whoah. Guess I need to get a clue.
Is it personal abuse when it is directed at one's self?
    It still hurts.
