No outlet hole on tv stand for wires?

This isn't exactly the right forum but it's the closest I can find. My mum bought a HDTV and bought a stand for it. However we're a little confused. There's a hole at the back which seems to be for the wires from the various equipment but there's no hole for them to come out of?

We've actually had the stand for two years and it's one of those things thats a mystery, bugs us and there's no one to ask about it.

there should be a plastic sheet that goes in the channel all the way down the back. that creates a hole for all the wires to go down. you dont actually put the wires down the hole in the chrome part

We didn't get any plastic sheet like that with the stand.......so why is there a hole in the chrome part????

Can the sheet be bought?

im not sure why that hole is there.. there's no outlet down that hole so its pointless. the new version of that stand is a solid piece on top.

maybe the store forgot to give it to you, i would be very surprised if you could buy one. that stand is made by a company called TechLink and the model of that stand is PTV4

sorry, my mistake... you can buy an adapter that slides down that hole and you mount the tv to it. so it would be like this
