As of this moment my Valve folder contains 32.2gb of stuff. It's possible it adds up to simple installs but as we all know from playing counterstrike etc every second server makes you download a bajillion soundfiles before you can play.

Anyway, where do all these files go? What's safe to delete out of the valve folder that won't cause everything to go squish?

Cheers for any thoughts cos I can't find anything via google.

Most of the files should be in c:\program files\steam\steamapps\ any downloaded content should be in this folder, like sound files and custom maps from CS servers.

You could check out the size of each folder and uninstall or backup some of the games you don't play that much or at all or any extra content they might have other than the main game files :D

The one file you don't want to delete is the .gcf files. They hold they game information steam has downloaded so if you don't want to download them again :)
