Whats the story with Ryanair now, i booked a bag to be checked in ages ago, and had to pay for airport check in. But now they've gotten rid of airport check in and just have a bag drop desk, i assume i check in online now and just bring my bag along?

Yeah just check in online and they have a baggage drop area now for the bag. You should really have been refunded the airport check-in charge..but i suppose this is Ryanair we're dealing with!

Weather predictions just getting hotter and hotter, 31c for Thursday and 35c for Friday :pac:

****. High 20's would have been perfect. Mid 30's is too hot for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,836 ✭✭✭Sir Gallagher

yeah think i'll do that, i hate dealing with them in any way shap or form also them just changing flight times willy nilly is very annoying also. I need to take a chill pill, must not let this ruin my excitement, lol.

Yeah getting home last year for me was sh1t, i'll be much better prepared this year though. Don't know, if this has been posted yet, a bit of good news on the drinks front.

"By popular demand! The choice of drinks expands considerably during the festival this year. A wine and cava bar will be added to the chill out. Tasty cocktails will be prepared for you at the Minute Maid Cocktail bar. At the regular bars, also Jupiler, Hoegaarden Rosee, Coca Cola (classic, diet and zero), water and Red Bull will be available. As usual, specialised stands offer coffee, milk and fruit juice. Cin Cin! Schol! Proost! Cheers! Salud! Santé!"

Is that Hoegaarden rossee another fruity beer, like that mankey cherry stuff?

Hey that Cherry stuff is gorgeous! Haha Should be a new experience trying the new stuff...

Wasn't the biggest fan myself, i'm way too manly for all that cherry nonsense :pac:

I hope that little gourmet food buffet place is there again this year, nice to get a couple of decent meals in there when the burgers and bratwursts begin to get too much!

I saw Hoegaarden and got excited. Then saw Cherry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,836 ✭✭✭Sir Gallagher

Yeah got a little excited bout that myself, ah well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,117 ✭✭✭Gazza22

Hoegaarden would have been so nice :(

I'm not that bothered this year because i bought one of those big hydration packs! I'll end up at the bar though if we do get those high temps for cool beer!

Just about to book train tickets, does it matter what names I put in for each passenger? I booked the tickets so I was going to put my name on all three.

Is anyone else on the late Ryanair flight tomorrow? last year i got the bus from charleroi to brussels but i think Mr.S was saying you can get a train from Charleroi to brussels which works out cheaper?

Another thing is, i might stop in Brussels for a pint or two tomorrow night, so around what time do the trains from Brussels to Leuven stop running at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭PetKing

I think the last train to Leuven is around 10.30, maybe 11ish.

Jaysus that was some heat, highest i saw was 39c

Not to sure i like the new mainstage crowd system for the pits, to many ques where last years you could just walk in.

What was the system? Had they a managed section at the front or something??

Fantastic weekend. Got burnt raw but it's not so bad now. 2manyDJ's were the surprise act for me. Not heard them before but will definately check them out again.

The brother texted me this morning. Apparently Kings of Leon and Regina Spektor both played stormers. And the 38 degree heat.

Needless to say, I hate him today as I sit in the office. :(

Had a great time this year although the heat was a nightmare during the daytime, i've seen 2manyDJ's twice before so i knew that they would be excellent, i was suprised they were headlining they mainstage when i first found out they were playing but they really pulled it off. They came on at perfect time too as the crowd were really buzzing after the Kings of Leon.

My favourite gig though was Laurant Garnier in the tent on the first day, i've been wanting to see him for a few years now and i wasn't let down at all, absolutely crazy gig, electronic music with a full on jazz band for good measure, was really delighted about that one.

I thought Metallica closing was the perfect ending really, full on stadium rock for thousands of people, i wouldn't be a huge fan but their concerts always looked brilliant so i was looking forward to it and they surpassed my expectations and their pyrotechnics were a nice little surprise too.

All in all i had a great time, i thought the line was a bit weak in parts but overall i've no complaints.

great weekend lads, just home now and fairly sure i'm going to be sick. rang work last thursday and got tomorrow off, thank feck for that. didn't get burnt either and got camping in the forest in c3 so heat wasn't too bad. did anyone see the tornado?? it was crazy, i was right beside it up outside the tent during mogwai. it ripped up a good few pieces of the wooden decking and a lad got mown out of it. he was left out cold while the tornado flew off down to the food area. Check it out on youtube. i found 1 link called something like rock werchter tornado uncut. mad it was.

lady gaga surprise hit of the weekend i say.
