Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Xbox 360 - Xbox 360 cat5 multiplayer

    Hi,
A few friends and I are looking to have a good old xbox night. What we have is two xbox360s, one router, two lenghts of cat5 cable, two displays, two amplifiers, and 4 controllers. So what we want is two vs two in GOW or GOW2 or any other shoot 'em up. Does anyone have any experience with this or have any known problems? I know we could play 4 person split screen on one display but the fact we have the list of stuff above having it on two screens would be pretty cool.
    Any help would be appreciated
    J

tbh i have'nt tried it but was thinking about doing the same thing with a friend of mine.
I think it should work, just select the local network option.
let us know how it goes.

all ya have to do with only two xbox's is plug the ethernet cable from one to the other.

Was only doing this last night with Halo 3!

What we used was a crossover cable to do it, its a cat 5 "crosswired" network cable, should get one in maplins handy enough!

If you dont have one of them id say a router with over 2 ethernet ports on it should do the trick.....

    Hope this helps!

Worked a treat. Very easy to set up. Didn't need cross over cable or a router just normal cat5 plugged into each xbox360. On the game one xbox is the host and the other joins the party to play (for GOW2 anyway).

Yeah, the 360 can use either crossover or standard network cable without any issues.

The days of the crossover cable are over now that most network controllers come with the software to handle the straight-through 1-on-1 connections.
