With the recent broadband speed upgrade rollout have you got the new upgraded speeds or have your speeds worsened ?

Could one of the mods make this a sticky ?

I got upgraded from 2mb to 3mb with BT. Speeds have increased but I haven't 'maxed' it out yet. I'm sure if I was up at 4am I might but the rest of the time it peaks around 2.5mb.
After an initial degradation in performance due to bad pings on certain IP ranges its been behaving for about 6 weeks.

I received the upgrade from 2Mb to 3Mb and my speeds hardly
go above 100Kb/s anymore. Ridiculous to say the least. :(

Upgraded with Eircon from 3mb to 7.6. I dont even get speeds matching a 1mb line and the pings make it impossible to play games online.

Customer service and support is more of a joke than my current speeds

Upgrades haven't happened here yet, and I hope it stays that way unless the upgrades incorporate ADSL2+ (which they don't currently)

I used to have a fantastic 3mb connection with BT.

Now its just depressing.. I did nothing to get it either, totally free. Thanks a lot Eircom/BT :(

I tried to get on the radio today about it and they wouldn't put me on air, said they didn't have time, I rang at 10am

Speeds with me vary wildly. Was on the 3mb package for about 2 weeks and got around 2.5 or 2.6mb steadily. My router declares a 7.1mb after upgrading but speeds vary between 1.2mb and 4.2mb. Frustrating really. Pings are bad around 300ms, but Im not a gamer.

Was on 3Mb with UTV but after the upgrades my pings tripled, switched over to the 20Mb UPC package. I rarely used the landline (mainly skype or mobile) so I'm saving €20 overall

I went from 3 to 7.6 but the line became unusable then. Had them down the speed to 6 and then again to 5 before I got a stable connection. It has been fine since then though, but it's a business connection that I'm not paying for.

Sorry for the late reply man...

Yeah they sorted on the Wednesday in the end. Ended up with 2600 Kb d/l
and 256 odd u/l with around 40-80ms pings to Dublin servers.

Not too bad. I'm still gonna keep my eye on it though. But happy days.
They came extremely close to losing a customer to the Metro service
    in my area !! :P

Might of been sorted out here for myself too, going to keep an eye on it for the next week, but hopefully it's fixed.
