Getting your road tax back after car written off

Is this possible ? Does anyone know how to go about it .

The car was written off as beyond economic repair and theres a salvage value .

If it goes back on the road by some one else will this effect getting the road tax back

Hey barr, only if the car is completely written off. fill in the back of the VLC saying that it's been destructed and you can claim it back after that. Long and short is that it can be done

My friends car is only an insurance write off , Beyond Econoic Repair

Theres a salvage offer on the table so Im sure the salvage company will put it back on the road.

Can she still claim the road tax back ?

Yes she can, or if she is the 3rd party in an insurance claim she should claim the outstanding tax off the other party's insurance.

It can't be claimed back from the Local Authority unless the car is destroyed!
