Cheapest "decent" sat nav I can find is this Garmin Nuvi 300 for £64.99 + delivery. Problem is there delivery charge to Ireland is a whopping £24.95!

If you know someone in the UK they could order it for £64.99, get free delivery and forward it on to you. (Free delivery is only to card holders address so they will have to place the order)

    Note: This is "White Boxed" i.e. it's a re-furb.

If that's too much trouble Halfords have the Garmin Nuvi 250 in store for €129.99.

In Halfords in Cork they had a Medion Sat Nav for 49 euro. Medion is usually Aldi's brand and they're stuff is pretty good

Seems like a good deal. Are these refurbs generally good condition?

If so, going to go with shipping it to someone in UK and let them forward it on.

Just came across this Garmin Nuvi 300 in the UK for £67.56 & £10 european delivery. So about €93 or €94 delivered.

Best value Garmin I've found (apart from the Tesco ones for €45 which are long gone!:()

    Thanks for the help.

Any opinions of which of the above is the best all round given the price and the model?

i'm buying one of those off a bloke, are they any good or are they missing anything important. they have all the maps right?

For the Garmin Nuvi 300 is says UK mapping. Further down in the specs its says full maps for UK & Ireland. This might be just NI though.

Do you think this will include full ROI maps?

Yes it is all of Ireland that is mapped, I have had a Nuvi 300 previously.

They are fine, but is the "bloke" meeting you at the back of a pub? There was a load of these Garmins stolen from Tesco in Nenagh.....

As far as the maps go the Garmin uses Navteq maps and these are best for Ireland. (The other big brand is Teleatlas)

Garmin customer service is also 1st class in my limited experiance. Many other seem people share this view.

Bad point is the way you have to fill in the full address there is no predictive input which I found to be a real pain in the @ss!

TeleAtlas maps apparently aren't the best for Ireland though.

Think the best I've found so far online is the Navamn S50 for £89.98.
Has Bluetooth and 4.3" screen, however, they use Teleatlas maps. It comes with a free 2009 maps update so may not be too bad.

Hey folks, Im getting the OH a sat nav for christmas in addition to the rest of his gifts, so Im not looking to spend over €130.

What should I be looking for?
From following the links I see many have touchscreen, UK & Ireland Maps, Bluetooth.

    Am I missing anything?

Am thinking of going to PC World, Im afraid of ordering online this late.
