Is anyone else studying for this exam in December? I'm doing home study for it. Really only putting the head down at the moment and while I'm finding it ok there's a real lack of information on the web as far as I can see. Everything seems to be for F6 (UK).

Does anyone know of any site with info on the IRL version??

I have experience of local variant papers.

You wont find much information online.

The most useful things are past papers and they can be downloaded from acca website, And the Study Texy and Revision Kit.

    Hi Scoot on,

I am also studying for this in December and the only thing I have accessed online are the pass papers from the acca website. I also use the website accahelp.com

Sorry I can't be of more help

Thanks guys, it's a bit of a pain that there's not more support for local variants. There seems to be so much info around for the UK version. I've downloaded the past exam papers but I was just looking for some more sample questions etc. Guess i'll just have to carry on with what I have.

    Hi Scoot on

Don't forget the archive of past exam paper too on the acca website.

    Navigate to

Students > Study, exams & exemptions > exam paper resourses > acca qualification > acca Professional Scheme archive > Professional Scheme part 2 > Paper 2.3 > Past Exam Papers > Ireland Variant (IRL)

Maybe you have already accessed this

Our lecture give us the following tips:

Know the date, they are worth 6-10%

If you get stuck on a tricky calculation move on, its only with very little ie.1%

Answer easy question first to get the easy marks

IF you get stuck for time, you can guess a calculation ie. capital allowance figure as your only lose 1-2% for it and it will give you a chance to continue the question to pick up the easier marks

If you study focus on it & ct, then you will have the bulk of required %

Part-disposal in cgt was answered badly last june, may come up again
There should be losses in ct
    Goodluck

Ya, gonna go over the dates tonight.

Not confident at all about CT. Hoping IT and CGT will get me through.

Same as myself, cant complain about the exam at all but definately didnt prepare enough. Just hoping I did enough to scrape the 50%.

One complaint though was the lack of clocks in the exam centre (RDS). Personally I though it was disgraceful as I found myself asking the invigilator the time constantly to ensure the correct timing on questions. I noticed a number of people around me doing the same.

Anyone know if this situation has been resolved?

Thought is was tough but fair. Give it my all, hoping it was enough to get a pass on 16th Feb.

Had Law today, and was so nervous about it, theory exams not my strong point. Was happy with it though, so fingers crossed that I did enough.

One more to go next Monday, Performance Management.

You could do what I did and bring a watch...
Mind you you, I'm sure I pissed off more than a few folk with the beeping noise everytime I reset the stopwatch when I started a new question.
