Hi,would like to know if the map updates are only from Europe to Europe or can you upgrade from USA to Europe for free as well. Thanks

When you buy the unit it has either (1) a single region (in this part of the world that means UK & Ireland), (2) all of Europe or (3) Europe and Nth America and you pay accordingly.

An upgrade means that the maps that came on the unit get upgraded to the current version. If you want to add maps it usually means that you have to buy the extra maps on an SD card because the unit usually comes with sufficient internal memory to store the maps shipped with the unit but not much more.

So adding maps is not part of the upgrade process.
