A little bit of history tonight @ 9pm on BBC4 (repeated throughout the week) dealing with Walter Tull, the first black commissioned officer in the British Army who also holds the record of being the first black outfield player in the English football league, when he made his debut for Spurs in 1909, before moving to Northampton Town.

Not sure if the programme will focus on his football career at all, as it's part of the 90 year anniversary of WW1 on the Beeb, but worth a look all the same.

On Thursday night again at 9pm there is a documentary on his football career.
    Thought Sunday's episode was excellent.
