O2 modem E270 with a different SIM

I have E270 from O2 and want to use it with meteor or 3IRL sim card. Did anyone try it? Does it work or do I have to unblock the modem?

This application lets you input the unlock code into the modem.
http://www.o2.ie/broadband-unlock

Ring O2 customer care and they will give you the unlock code.
Alternatively get it off the lads on the O2 Forum.
